Back to Basics: Christian living is something that has been on our hearts for some time, how long is quite another story, see 10 Years later, why? But we feel there is a need for those who are in the church to get back to a basic understanding of God’s Word...

Dave and Elaine are a remarkable couple who have been on quite the journey. They have lived in various parts of the UK and have been involved in various activities that have shaped their lives. After leaving Scotland in 1990, they settled in Southampton for over twenty years. During this time, they ran house groups and were involved with local churches. They also went on many different missions, including trips to Greece, Portugal, Ireland, and India.

In 1997, Dave and Elaine became self-employed and started their first business, The Shoebox Bakehouse. After three years, they bought a bakery and ran that for eight years. They then ran a bus drivers' canteen under the same name for five years. They have always been hardworking and dedicated to everything they do.

It was during this period that the inspiration for Back to Basics: Christian living happened. This two-part teaching series is designed to help Christians build a solid foundation and learn how to live their lives by God's Word. Dave and Elaine believe that many Christians are lost and need to get back to a basic understanding of God's Word to become true disciples of Jesus Christ.

Now living in Carlisle, on the Scottish border between England and Scotland, Dave and Elaine run their own housekeeping and gardening business, At Your Service 365. They have enjoyed two weddings, suffered the loss of Dave's brother, been blessed with eight grandchildren, and continue to pursue their passion for helping those who are lost in the church.

They believe that there are people in the church who are lost, having not experienced all that being a Christian should be according to God’s Word. This is due to a lack of teaching, ignorance, or a deliberate plan to deceive those who have an earnest desire to follow Christ. Dave and Elaine's mission is to help these people get back to the basics of Christian living.
