Week 21
Your Weekly Round-up Sunday!
This week on Back to Basics: Christian Living we land on one of the great hinge days of Scripture — Pentecost. The day the promise of the Father came down. The day the Holy Ghost took up residence in believers. The day the Church was born — not made by men, but birthed by the breath of God. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place [Acts 2:1 KJV].
We're opening the week with a two-part teaching on Pentecost — The Day Everything Changed, and What It Means for the Christian Today. Plain Bible. Practical application. No fog.
From there the week sharpens.
Monday — The Devil's Counterfeit — how Satan replicates God's truth in the age of AI, and why knowing the genuine is the only real defence. Tuesday — The Enemy's Strategy: Blinding Minds & Stealing the Word — how the enemy works, and how the believer stands. Wednesday — When False Teachers Feed Christians What They Want to Hear — itching ears, narrow ways, and the call back to sound doctrine. Thursday — The Danger of False Prophets — soul-driven men, presumptuous words, and the biblical test of true prophecy. Friday — How to Walk in the Spirit Day by Day (Teaching 6) — the daily, yielded, ordinary Christ-likeness the Spirit produces in every born-again believer.
Threaded through the week is the same heartbeat that runs through everything we do here. Stand on the Word. Walk it out. Fight the good fight. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves [James 1:22 KJV].
You'll also find this week's YouTube line-up, our podcasts Blazing Apostles and Saturday Conversations, and a quiet reflection on the numbers behind the channel — 367 subscribers, 837 videos, 100,103 views — not a target, but a witness to faithfulness.
So settle in. Open your Bible. Walk worthy. …that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work [Colossians 1:10 KJV].

Part 1 — Pentecost: The Day Everything Changed
The day the promise came down — and the Church was born.
Pentecost is one of those days the world drives past without slowing down. But for the believer, it sits as one of the great hinge moments of Scripture — the day the promise of the Father came down, and the Church was born.
Let's go back and see it plainly.
Pentecost wasn't invented in [Acts 2 KJV]. It was already on God's calendar. In the Old Testament it was called the Feast of Weeks — fifty days after Passover. And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath… seven sabbaths shall be complete: even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days [Leviticus 23:15-16 KJV]. Israel brought the firstfruits to the Lord. He was teaching them — and us — that He had a day appointed.
Fast forward. Jesus is crucified at Passover. He rises three days later. He walks among His disciples for forty days. Then He ascends — but before He goes, He says this: …but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high [Luke 24:49 KJV].
So they tarry. They pray. They wait.
And on the day of Pentecost — fifty days after the Passover lamb was slain — heaven moves.
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance [Acts 2:1-4 KJV].
Read that slowly.
A sound. A wind. Fire. Tongues. Power. Not a private experience for a select few — all of them. Not a quiet whisper — a rushing mighty wind. Not a feeling — the Holy Ghost Himself.
Then Peter — the same Peter who denied the Lord a few weeks earlier — stands up and preaches. Plain. Bold. Scripture-saturated. And by the time he finishes, they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls [Acts 2:41 KJV].
That's Pentecost.
Not just a Jewish festival. Not just an Acts chapter. It is the day the promise of the Father came down on the people of God. The day the Holy Ghost took up residence in believers. The day the Church was born — not made by men, but birthed by the breath of God.
If you've ever wondered when the Church began, here it is. Wind. Fire. Word. Souls. Born from above…
Part 2 will look at what that means for you and me today…

The Devil's Counterfeit
How Satan Replicates God's Truth in the Age of AI …

The Age of Deception
We live in the age of the counterfeit. Artificial intelligence can copy a face, mimic a voice, and produce content that looks and sounds real — but isn't. That is a sharp picture of Satan's oldest strategy. From the garden onwards he has questioned God's Word, twisted God's Word, and even quoted God's Word out of context — using just enough truth to deceive. The defence is not to study every forgery; it is to know the genuine. Stay in the KJV. Search the Scriptures daily like the Bereans. Lean on the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth. Put on the whole armour of God, prove all things, and hold fast to that which is good. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away [Matthew 24:35 KJV].

The Enemy's Strategy: Blinding Minds & Stealing the Word!
Understanding Satan's tactics to blind minds and steal God's Word—and how believers can stand firm in truth.

The Battle for Truth in a Deceptive World
The enemy has a strategy — and every believer needs to know it. Satan works to blind the minds of unbelievers to the gospel [2 Corinthians 4:3-4 KJV], and where the Word does land, he comes immediately to snatch the seed before it can root [Mark 4:15 KJV]. The battlefield is the heart [Proverbs 4:23 KJV], and the thief's intent is to steal, to kill, and to destroy [John 10:10 KJV]. But the defence is clear: hide the Word deep [Psalm 119:11 KJV], put on the whole armour of God [Ephesians 6:11 KJV], submit to the Lord, and resist the devil [James 4:7 KJV]. The fight is real — but the victory is settled. Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world [1 John 4:4 KJV].

When False Teachers Feed Christians What They Want to Hear!
The Danger of Spiritual Deception…

The Consequence of Being Led Astray
False teachers thrive whenever Christians prefer comfort over conviction. Paul warned that the day would come when people would heap to themselves teachers to scratch their itching ears [2 Timothy 4:3-4 KJV] — and that day is here. The way of Christ is narrow [Matthew 7:13-14 KJV], and it cannot be widened to suit the flesh. The defence is not complicated, but it is deliberate: grow from milk to strong meat [Hebrews 5:12-13 KJV], search the Scriptures daily like the Bereans [Acts 17:11 KJV], try the spirits [1 John 4:1 KJV], hold to sound doctrine [Titus 2:1 KJV], and mark and avoid those who divide the Church with another gospel [Romans 16:17 KJV]. Stop feeding on spiritual junk food. Get into the Word. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth [John 17:17 KJV].

The Danger of False Prophets: When Soul-Driven Men Mislead the Church
When false prophets speak, only discernment stands between truth & deception….

Recognising the Counterfeit: How to Spot Soul-Driven Prophecy
In an age where spiritual deception runs rampant, the church faces a critical danger: false prophets operating from their souls rather than God's Spirit. This teaching exposes the devastating reality of so-called prophetic ministry that relies on generic promises, gossip-based revelations, and unfulfilled predictions—all disguised as words from God. Drawing on biblical standards from both Testaments, we examine how to distinguish between genuine Spirit-led prophecy and soul-driven manipulation. The stakes couldn't be higher: false prophets mislead individual believers, damage the credibility of authentic spiritual gifts, and constitute spiritual abuse by taking God's name in vain. Scripture commands us to test all things, to know false prophets by their fruits, and to reject prophecies that don't align with God's Word or come to pass. This isn't about rejecting prophetic ministry altogether—it's about demanding biblical discernment in an era where the blind lead the blind. The church must stop tolerating pathetic imitations and return to the genuine article, protecting the flock from wolves in sheep's clothing who speak presumptuously in the Lord's name…

How to Walk in the Spirit Day by Day (Teaching 6)
Letting the Holy Spirit do in you what you cannot do in yourself…

A natural next step from Teaching 5
The Christian life was never meant to be powered by you. It was meant to be powered by the Spirit of God who already lives in every born-again believer [1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV]. Teaching 6 brings the series together with a simple daily call: "Walk in the Spirit" [Galatians 5:16 KJV] — yielded, listening, quick to obey, bearing fruit. Start each day by handing it over [Romans 12:1 KJV]. Stay sensitive to His voice through the Word, prayer, and conscience [John 16:13 KJV]. Obey straight away — delayed obedience quenches Him [1 Thessalonians 5:19 KJV]. And watch what is growing: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance [Galatians 5:22-23 KJV]. Don't aim for spectacular — aim for steady. Be continually "filled with the Spirit" [Ephesians 5:18 KJV], and let Christ-likeness become ordinary instead of mystical.

YouTube - 367. 837. 100,103.
Faithfulness Over Numbers
Three numbers sit on the screen this morning — 367 subscribers, 837 videos, 100,103 views. And it would be easy to read them the wrong way. Easy to weigh them against bigger channels, louder voices, faster growth, and miss what the Lord is actually doing.
So let's read them the right way.
837 videos. That's not a number — that's a labour. That's hours of teaching, recording, editing, uploading, praying, re-recording, and pressing on when it would have been easier to stop. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not [Galatians 6:9 KJV]. Eight hundred and thirty-seven seeds. Eight hundred and thirty-seven small acts of obedience. None of them wasted.
100,103 views. Behind every view is a person — somebody who paused their day, opened the Word, and let plain Bible teaching land on them. We'll never meet most of them this side of glory. But the Lord knows every one. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void [Isaiah 55:11 KJV]. The Word has gone out a hundred thousand times. And not one of those times was wasted either.
367 subscribers. Not a crowd. A congregation. Three hundred and sixty-seven brothers and sisters who said, yes — feed me the Word. Small enough to know matters. Big enough to remember it's the Lord's work, not ours. Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them [Matthew 18:20 KJV].
This was never about chasing numbers. It was never about going viral. It was never about competing with the world's noise. Back to Basics: Christian Living was set up for one reason — to put plain, practical, powerful Bible teaching back where it belongs, and to help believers move from hearing the Word to doing it. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves [James 1:22 KJV].
So we don't measure success the way the world does. We measure it the way the Word does.
Were we faithful? Yes. Did we preach the Word? Yes. Did we stand on the KJV without compromise? Yes. Did we point people back to Christ? Yes.
That's the scoreboard.
The numbers are a witness — not a target. They tell us the Lord has been quietly building something. Not a brand. A legacy. A growing library of plain Bible teaching that a young believer somewhere can stumble across one day and find food for their soul. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also [2 Timothy 2:2 KJV].
So today we don't celebrate the numbers. We thank the Lord for them — and we keep going.
Walk worthy. Bear fruit. Know God more. …that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God [Colossians 1:10 KJV].
We're not finished. By God's grace, we're just getting started…
Back to Basics: Christian Living - Your Faith Journey. We're excited to share insights and practical guidance to help strengthen your faith journey in 2026…
Part 2 — Pentecost Today: What It Means for the Christian
The same Spirit who fell then — fills every believer now.
If Pentecost was just history, we'd put it in a book and move on. But Pentecost isn't history — it's yours. That same Holy Ghost who came down in [Acts 2 KJV] is the same Holy Ghost who lives in every born-again believer today. That changes everything.
Let's bring it home.
Before that day, the Spirit came upon men. After that day, the Spirit comes into the believer to stay. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? [1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV]. That's not poetry. That's position. You are not trying to get the Spirit — if you are born again, the Spirit already lives in you.
Jesus said it Himself: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever [John 14:16 KJV]. Not a feeling. Not a force. But that which was sent to teach you, lead you, strengthen you, and walk every step of your Christian life with you.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you… [Acts 1:8 KJV]. Power to stand. Power to witness. Power to obey when obeying costs you something. Power to be a doer — But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves [James 1:22 KJV]. Pentecost was never given for show; it was given for service.
On that day, believers were baptised into one body — For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body… [1 Corinthians 12:13 KJV]. You are not a lone Christian fighting on your own. You are joined to a living body the gates of hell will not prevail against.
Read [1 Corinthians 12 KJV] plainly. One Spirit. Nine manifestations. Not toys. Not trophies. Tools — given to profit the body, to build it up, to point people back to Christ.
We walk in it. …that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God [Colossians 1:10 KJV].
The Word came down at Pentecost in power. The Walk began on the same day. The War started the moment those believers stepped out of the upper room and into the streets. The Word, the Walk and the War — born together. And every believer since has been called to step into the same.
Pentecost is not a story you remember once a year. It is the air the Church breathes.
Don't admire it. Live it…
