Week 23
Your Weekly Round-up Sunday!
Welcome back to Round-up Sunday — your weekly look at everything coming on Back to Basics: Christian Living over the days ahead. It is a full week, and the kind that asks for more than a quick read — it asks for a heart willing to walk, listen, and obey.
We open in Building Your Faith on Biblical Foundations with "Walking with God: A Journey…" — a reminder that the Christian life is not a sprint to a finish line, but a daily walk with the Father.
Then Something to Think About kicks off Monday with "God Is Not a Lifejacket!" — a pastoral wake-up call for believers who only run to God in a crisis. Tuesday's Messages from the Outpost settles the storm-tossed soul with "Truth Settles Storms in the Soul!" Wednesday's Write This Down sounds the alarm with "Bring the Thunder!" — a call to boldness, fire, and uncompromising faith. Thursday's Outpost asks the hard question every believer must answer: "Talk the Talk — Or Walk the Walk?" And Friday's Back to Basics opens "Part One — The Chief Shepherd & His Under-Shepherds", the start of a teaching on whose sheep we are really looking after.
Over on the YouTube channel, we have a full Monday-to-Friday line-up — Something to Think About?, Shorts: messages from the Outpost!, Write This Down…, the Back to Basics: Christian Living series, Back to Basics: Plain Truth!, Morning: Awakening Faith!, What's on my Heart: Unfiltered Faith!, Let's Read the Word Together!, the Q&A Sessions, and Under the Tree from the archives. Our podcasts Blazing Apostles, Saturday Conversations, and Back to Basics: Christian Living — Unscripted! are running alongside.
In the NEWS this week, a new development: we are prayerfully considering a dedicated series on Christian Manhood under Back to Basics: Christian Living — coming to both the website and the YouTube channel in the weeks ahead.
And in Your Faith Journey, an urgent teaching: "Seize Every Moment: Declaring Christ to a World in Need!"
Open the Word with us. Walk with us. Share it on. Let's make this another week of plain, practical, powerful obedience…

Walking with God: A Journey…
Not a sprint, not a finish line — a daily walk with the Father…
We often talk about the Christian life as if it were some destination we're trying to reach — a goal to tick off, a finish line to cross. But that is not how Scripture frames it. The Christian life is a walk. Not a sprint. Not a one-off decision tucked away in a drawer. A walk. Steady. Intentional. Daily.
Think on that word for a moment. To walk somewhere, you have to keep moving. One foot in front of the other, day after day, in the same direction. And the One we walk with is the Lord Himself — And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him [Genesis 5:24 KJV]. That is the pattern. That is the invitation. Not a religious performance now and then, but a life lived in step with the Father.
It all begins with a glorious truth: we were once separated from God by sin. Cut off. Far off. Strangers from the covenants of promise. But Jesus Christ bridged that gap — For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us [Ephesians 2:14 KJV]. Through faith in Him alone we are reconciled. No longer enemies. No longer outsiders. Beloved children of a Heavenly Father who calls us to walk with Him.
And here is the wonder of it — we do not walk this road alone. The Holy Spirit becomes our constant companion. He opens up the Scriptures, He convicts us when we drift, He empowers us when we are weak, and He bears His fruit in us when we yield to His leading. The Lord Jesus promised it plainly: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever [John 14:16 KJV]. That Comforter is in us, with us, every step of the way.
So how do we actually walk this daily walk? Through prayer — real, honest communication with the Father, not religious recital. Through the Word — abiding in Christ, feeding on Scripture, building life on the Rock. And through yielding — letting the Spirit lead, even when the flesh wants to run its own road. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit [Galatians 5:25 KJV].
This walk is not passive. It is active cooperation with God. The Father loves us, the Son redeemed us, the Spirit empowers us — and we put one obedient foot in front of the other. Step by step, this walk is shaping us into the image of Christ, until faith becomes sight and we see Him face to face.
So today, take that next step. Open the Word. Lift your heart in prayer. Yield to the Spirit. Walk with God…

God Is Not a Lifejacket!
Daily faith, not emergency religion…

Why We Need Him Every Day, Not Just in the Crisis
A pastoral wake-up call for believers who only run to God in a crisis. The Lord is not a lifejacket folded under the seat for emergencies — He's the Father we're meant to walk with every single day. This teaching calls the reader to move from crisis-only Christianity to a daily, abiding faith, so that when the storm comes they're not fumbling for a lifejacket — they're already walking with the Captain…

Truth Settles Storms in the Soul!
When God’s Word is trusted, the heart learns to be still…

God’s peace begins when His truth takes the lead
When the soul feels storm-tossed, the answer is not a technique — it is the truth. Plain Bible truth about who God is, what Christ has done, and what the Spirit is doing in every born-again believer settles the heart that's being pulled by fear, doubt, and noise. Peace is not the absence of waves; it is the presence of Jesus — the Person who is our peace [Ephesians 2:14 KJV]. Bring the fears into the light. Answer the lies with Scripture. Fix the mind on Christ — Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee [Isaiah 26:3 KJV] — and watch the storm in the soul begin to still…
"Write this down" is a phrase used to draw attention to essential information that needs to be recorded or remembered. Published weekly on a Wednesday…

Bring the Thunder!
A Call to Boldness, Fire, & Uncompromising Faith in the Last Days…

The Thunder That Shakes Nations
The Church in this generation has gone quiet — domesticating the Gospel, swapping the fear of the Lord for the approval of men, and trading truth for tolerance. But Christ never called us to a polite Christianity. He called us to be salt, light, and witnesses with the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead living inside us. Bring the Thunder! is a wake-up call: preach the Word without compromise, stand on Scripture when it costs you, call sin what it is, and refuse to be silent while the lost are still within earshot. Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet [Isaiah 58:1 KJV]. It is time to stop apologising and start proclaiming…

Talk the Talk — Or Walk the Walk?
Am I one of those who talks the talk, but never walks the walk?

It is easy to say it — harder to live it
It is easy to talk the Christian life — to share a verse, sing a song, nod at a sermon. But Scripture keeps drawing a line between hearers and doers, between talkers and walkers, between sand and rock. The Lord Jesus does not measure us by our vocabulary, but by our obedience. Profession without practice denies Christ; love for Christ is proven by keeping His Word. The Christian life was never meant to be a slogan — it was always meant to be a walk. By the grace of God, take one plain, practical, powerful step of obedience today…

Part One - The Chief Shepherd & His Under-Shepherds
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want [Psalm 23:1 KJV].

Whose sheep are they anyway?
Before the church talks about under-shepherds, it must talk about the Shepherd. Jesus Christ is the Good, Great, and Chief Shepherd — He didn’t come to manage the sheep, He came to die for them. The flock is not ours; it belongs to Him, bought with His own blood. Every pastor, elder, leader, and believer who cares for a soul is a steward — trusted, accountable, and answerable when the Chief Shepherd appears. The pattern is plain: Christ as Head, leaders as gifts to equip, every member with a part to play. And a true under-shepherd looks like Him — going after the wanderer, knowing the sheep, leading not driving, laying down his life, and feeding the flock. Sit at His feet first. The sheep are His. We just look after them for a little while…

Christian Manhood: A Subject We're Coming Back To…
A future teaching series on Back to Basics: Christian Living…
Christian manhood. Not the world's version, not the church-marketing version, not the loud, posturing, watered-down imitation drifting about the internet — but the kind of manhood the Bible actually describes. The kind that bows the knee to Jesus Christ, takes up the Word, leads with humility, and stands firm when everything around it is shifting.
We believe this is a conversation the Lord wants us to keep returning to. The pressures on men today — believers and unbelievers alike — are unlike anything most generations have faced. Identity is up for grabs. Fatherhood is mocked. Courage is rebranded as toxicity. Headship is treated like a swear word. And in the middle of all the noise, the Bible quietly, plainly, powerfully tells men who they are, what they are for, and how they are to live. Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong [1 Corinthians 16:13 KJV] — a single verse that cuts through every modern argument like a sword.
So here is the news: we are prayerfully considering a dedicated series on Christian manhood under our Back to Basics: Christian Living banner — both on the website and on the YouTube channel. Plain. Practical. Powerful. Straight from the Bible. No hype, no celebrity nonsense, no man-made standards bolted on to Scripture. Just the Word opened, explained, and applied to ordinary men trying to walk with God in an extraordinary hour.
We are not setting dates yet — we want this led by the Spirit, not pushed by the times. But we expect to teach on it more often in the weeks ahead, and to build it out into a proper series when the Lord opens the door. A man learning to pray. A husband learning to love as Christ loved the Church. A father learning to bring his children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord [Ephesians 6:4 KJV]. A son of God learning to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called [Ephesians 4:1 KJV].
We will not be flattering men. We will not be lecturing them either. We will be sitting under Scripture together — because that is where men are made into the men God calls them to be. Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend [Proverbs 27:17 KJV].
If this stirs something in you — pray with us. Watch this space. Subscribe on the website and the YouTube channel so you do not miss the start of the series when it goes live. The world has plenty to say about what a man is. It is time the Church said something biblical about it again…
Back to Basics: Christian Living - Your Faith Journey. We're excited to share insights and practical guidance to help strengthen your faith journey in 2026…
Seize Every Moment: Declaring Christ to a World in Need!
If not us, then who? If not now, then when?
We are living in urgent days. The clock is not slowing down, the world is not getting kinder, and souls are not waiting on our convenience. Every believer carries a sacred responsibility that cannot be postponed and cannot be passed off to someone else — to declare Christ to a world that desperately needs Him. Every gathering, every conversation, every chance meeting is an opportunity God has set up. We must learn to recognise these moments — and seize them with boldness and compassion.
The Lord Jesus understood the weight of the hour. He said it plainly: I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work [John 9:4 KJV]. If the Saviour worked with that urgency, what excuse do we have? Every person we sit across from could be hearing the gospel for the only time in their life. We dare not waste it on small talk and silence.
When someone tells us they are struggling, sympathy is not enough. We are not meant to be a soft shoulder and nothing more — we are meant to pray. Not religious words tossed into the air, but earnest, believing prayer that takes hold of God. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much [James 5:16 KJV]. Prayer is not a polite gesture — it is a weapon, a declaration, and a doorway through which heaven moves on earth.
Paul writes to Timothy, and to us: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine [2 Timothy 4:2 KJV]. Instant means ready. Ready when it suits us, ready when it does not. We cannot wait for the perfect moment, because the perfect moment is the one the Spirit hands us — and those are usually the ones that feel awkward.
The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few — Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest [Matthew 9:38 KJV]. Souls all around us are perishing without Christ. We carry the only message that can save them — how can we keep quiet? Fear says we will fumble our words. Fear says we will be rejected. But Scripture answers fear with truth: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind [2 Timothy 1:7 KJV]. The boldness is not in us — it is the Spirit of Christ within us.
The apostles knew it. Beaten, threatened, imprisoned, they still said, We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard [Acts 4:20 KJV]. May the same fire fall on us. The colleague wrestling with addiction, the neighbour facing illness, the family member sinking in depression — these are not random people in our path. They are divine appointments orchestrated by a loving God.
The time is now. The need is urgent. Open your mouth — and declare Christ…
