The Christian Compass…
Saturday, 20 December 2025
Welcome to This Week's Christian Compass!
As we gather together for this week's Christian Compass, we stand at a remarkable moment in our faith journey. The Christmas season is upon us—a time when we celebrate the greatest gift ever given to humanity: Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. Yet as we approach both Christmas and the threshold of a new year, we're presented with a powerful question that every believer must answer: Where will 2026 take you in your Christian walk?
This week, we've explored profound truths about building an unshakeable spiritual foundation. We've confronted the dangers of prophetic confusion, defended the purity of God's Word, examined the sufficiency of Scripture, rejected the weaponization of our faith, and discovered our responsibility to pass on a godly legacy. Each of these teachings points us back to one central truth: Christ and God’s Word are sufficient for everything we need.
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Saviour and step into a new year, now is the perfect time to assess where we stand spiritually and make intentional choices about the path we'll walk in 2026. Will we build our lives on the solid rock of Christ and God’s unchanging Word, or will we be swayed by every wind of doctrine and contemporary trend? The choice before us is clear, and the stakes could not be higher.
This week's Christian Compass is more than just a review of teachings—it's a call to action, a challenge to commit yourself fully to following Christ on the narrow path that leads to life. Let's journey together through these powerful biblical truths, embrace the practical challenges that will transform our faith from theory into reality, and step boldly into 2026 as believers who are grounded, discerning, and completely sold out for Jesus Christ…

Where Will 2026 Take You in Your Christian Walk?
Choosing the Right Path…
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, a powerful question confronts every believer: Where will 2026 take you in your Christian walk? The answer to this question doesn't lie in circumstances, opportunities, or even our natural abilities—it lies in the choices we make today about which path we will follow.
The Bible is clear about the significance of our choices. In Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV), God declares, "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live". Every day presents us with this fundamental choice: will we walk in God's ways or follow the patterns of this world?
Jesus himself spoke directly about the importance of choosing the right path. He warned, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it" (Matthew 7:13-14, KJV). The path that leads to spiritual growth and deeper intimacy with God is often the more challenging one, requiring discipline, commitment, and daily surrender.
As 2026 approaches, consider where you currently stand in your faith journey. Are you growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ? Are you bearing fruit that remains? The Apostle Paul reminds us, "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves" (2 Corinthians 13:5, KJV). This isn't about condemnation but about honest assessment and intentional direction.
Choosing the right path means committing to daily disciplines that build strong spiritual foundations. It means prioritising time in God's Word, for "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105, KJV). It means cultivating a consistent prayer life, maintaining fellowship with other believers, and actively serving in God's kingdom.
The path we choose today determines our destination tomorrow. Joshua's declaration to Israel remains relevant for us: "Choose you this day whom ye will serve... but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15, KJV). This isn't a one-time decision but a daily recommitment to follow Christ wholeheartedly.
Where will 2026 take you? The answer depends on which path you choose today. Will you choose the narrow way that leads to life? Will you commit to building your spiritual foundation on the solid rock of Christ's teachings? Will you press forward towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus? (Philippians 3:14, KJV)
The choice is yours. Choose wisely. Choose Christ. Choose the path that leads to abundant life, spiritual growth, and eternal reward. Let 2026 be the year you walk more closely with God than ever before, building an unshakeable faith that will stand the test of time and inspire generations to come…

A Call to Biblical Discernment & Truth
In a time when the church faces unprecedented spiritual confusion, "The Dangerous Cult of the Prophetic in the Modern Church" cuts through the noise with unflinching biblical clarity. This powerful teaching exposes how soul-driven counterfeits have infiltrated modern Christianity, masquerading as genuine prophecy whilst leading believers away from the sufficiency of Scripture. Drawing from the unchanging authority of God's Word, this message challenges the sensationalism, emotional manipulation, and false prophetic claims that characterise today's prophetic movements. Discover why true biblical prophecy must always align with Scripture, how to recognise the warning signs of counterfeit revelation, and why the remedy lies in returning to the solid foundation of God's inspired Word. If you've ever questioned the constant stream of prophetic predictions flooding social media, or wondered whether your faith should depend on the latest prophetic utterance, this teaching provides the biblical discernment you desperately need. It's time to stop chasing after prophetic novelties and return to the simplicity and sufficiency of Christ revealed in Scripture. This isn't just another opinion piece—it's a clarion call back to biblical truth that could protect you from spiritual deception and anchor your faith in the unchanging Word of God…

The Unchanging Foundation of Truth
Are you troubled by the rising trend of personalised Bible versions that reshape Scripture to fit modern preferences? In this powerful teaching, we confront a critical question facing the Church today: Why is everyone producing their own version of the Bible?
Discover why tampering with God's Word is not just unwise but spiritually dangerous. From the garden of Eden to today's digital age, humanity has consistently struggled with the temptation to question and reshape what God has clearly said. This message explores how modern Bible versions often dilute, distort, or delete crucial passages to make Scripture more palatable to contemporary culture—and why this compromises the transformative power of God's Word.
Learn why the Holy Spirit cannot fully guide us through altered texts, how reshaping Scripture creates a god in our own image, and what the Bible itself says about adding to or removing from God's Word. Drawing from passages like Revelation 22:18-19 KJV, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV, and Hebrews 4:12 KJV, this teaching calls believers back to reverent submission to the pure, unadulterated Word of God.
If you've ever wondered whether it matters which Bible version you read, or if you've felt uneasy about the proliferation of modernised translations, this message provides biblical clarity and a compelling call to faithful stewardship of the greatest treasure we've been given—God's unchanging revelation of Himself…

The Sufficiency of Scripture
In a time when believers are increasingly drawn to prophetic experiences and supernatural encounters, this challenging teaching asks a vital question: if Scripture is truly sufficient, why are we searching for more? This piece examines the modern obsession with prophetic ministry through a biblical lens, demonstrating that God's Word already thoroughly equips us for every spiritual need. It explores the essential truth that genuine revelation requires being born again and receiving the Holy Spirit, whilst warning that many contemporary prophetic practices disturbingly mirror occult methodologies forbidden in Scripture. Rather than emptying our minds in mystical meditation, believers are called to fill them with God's Word, which remains our "more sure word of prophecy". This teaching issues an urgent call to return to biblical Christianity, rejecting the pursuit of experiences over doctrine and anchoring ourselves once more to the unchanging foundation of Scripture. For anyone concerned about the direction of modern church practice, this message offers a timely reminder of where our true source of revelation lies…

The Gospel Cannot Be Co-opted
In a world where Christianity is increasingly being co-opted for political movements, social campaigns, and personal ambitions, we must return to a fundamental truth: faith cannot be weaponised for anyone's agenda. This powerful message challenges the alarming trend of people attempting to bend Christ's teachings to fit their own narratives, reminding us that the gospel stands on its own, untainted by human manipulation.
True Christianity requires us to deny ourselves and take up our cross, not to use our faith as a tool for personal gain. Throughout history, from the Crusades to modern political manipulation, the misuse of Christianity has consistently misrepresented God and driven people away from genuine faith. Jesus Himself rejected worldly power at every turn, refusing to compromise His mission for political influence or earthly kingdoms.
Our weapons are spiritual, not worldly. Prayer, love, truth, and God's Word are the tools of authentic Christianity—not manipulation, coercion, or political control. The moment we try to use Christianity for our purposes, we've departed from true faith. Christ's kingdom is not of this world, and it operates on principles completely different from worldly power structures.
This teaching calls us to authenticity: to approach every situation by first asking "What does God want?" rather than "How can I use my faith to get what I want?" It challenges us to let Scripture transform our agendas rather than twisting Scripture to validate them. Join us as we explore why Christianity cannot be weaponised and discover what it truly means to follow Christ with humility, love, and faithfulness…

Practical Steps for Passing on the Legacy
In a world where spiritual battles rage unseen, one of our greatest responsibilities as believers is to equip the next generation for the warfare they will face. This powerful teaching explores the biblical mandate to pass on the legacy of spiritual warfare, drawing from Scripture's clear instructions in Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (KJV) and 2 Timothy 2:2 (KJV). We examine the sobering warning from Judges 2:10 (KJV), where an entire generation lost knowledge of God in just one lifetime, and consider what this means for us today.
Through careful biblical exposition, this message reveals the four essential elements that must be transferred to those who follow us: the truth of God's Word, the reality of the spiritual realm, practical spiritual disciplines, and testimonies of God's faithfulness. We discover that this transfer happens most effectively through relationship and example, in everyday moments rather than just formal teaching settings. The goal isn't to create fearful believers, but to raise up confident, equipped Christians who understand they fight from a position of victory already secured by Christ.
As the Apostle Paul reminded Timothy, our strength comes not from our own ability but from grace in Christ Jesus. This teaching challenges us to be intentional about investing in the next generation, creating safe spaces for honest questions, and living out authentic faith that demonstrates the power of spiritual warfare in daily life. The battle continues, but so does God's faithfulness. Will we be found faithful in passing on this precious legacy?

Living Out Our Faith: Weekly Challenges! A practical guide offering weekly steps to apply your spiritual learning. These challenges turn Bible teachings into daily habits through simple, doable actions…
Living Out Our Faith: Weekly Challenges!
This week's challenges are designed to help you actively apply the powerful biblical truths we've explored together. Each challenge offers a practical step towards building the unshakeable spiritual foundation that will carry you confidently into 2026. Remember, transformation comes not merely from hearing God's Word, but from doing it (James 1:22, KJV).
Monday's Challenge: Test Everything Against Scripture
In response to our teaching on the dangerous cult of the prophetic, commit this week to testing every prophetic claim, spiritual teaching, or 'word from God' you encounter against the written Word of God. Write down any prophetic statements you hear on social media or in church, then spend time searching Scripture to see if they align with biblical truth. "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:21, KJV).
Tuesday's Challenge: Commit to a Faithful Translation
Following our discussion on Bible versions, choose one faithful translation of Scripture and commit to reading it consistently. If you've been using multiple modern paraphrases, challenge yourself to spend this week reading only from a translation that prioritises accuracy over contemporary accessibility. Meditate on Psalm 119:105 (KJV): "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path". Ask yourself: am I building my life on God's pure Word or on human interpretations?
Wednesday's Challenge: Replace Experience-Seeking with Word-Filling
Instead of seeking prophetic experiences this week, commit to filling your mind with Scripture. Set aside 30 minutes each day to read, meditate on, and memorise God's Word. Begin with 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV) and let it remind you that Scripture is sufficient to thoroughly equip you for every good work. Journal about how God's Word speaks to your current circumstances without needing additional 'prophetic words'.
Thursday's Challenge: Examine Your Motivations
Reflecting on our teaching about weaponizing Christianity, prayerfully examine your heart this week. In every situation where you're tempted to use your faith to achieve a personal goal, pause and ask: "What does God want in this situation?" rather than "How can my faith help me get what I want?" Confess any areas where you've co-opted Christ's teachings for your own agenda, and surrender those situations fully to His lordship.
Friday's Challenge: Invest in the Next Generation
Following our teaching on passing on the legacy of spiritual warfare, identify one person younger in the faith than yourself and intentionally invest in them this week. Share a testimony of God's faithfulness, teach them a spiritual discipline, or simply create space for them to ask honest questions about the Christian life. Remember 2 Timothy 2:2 (KJV): "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also".
Weekend Challenge: Reflect & Choose Your Path
As we approach the new year, spend time in prayer and reflection this weekend. Review the five teachings from this week and honestly assess: which path am I currently walking? Write down specific, measurable commitments for 2026 that will keep you on the narrow path that leads to life. Share these commitments with a trusted fellow believer who can hold you accountable throughout the coming year.
These challenges are not burdensome religious obligations but invitations to experience the abundant life Christ promises to those who follow Him wholeheartedly. "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous" (1 John 5:3, KJV). As you faithfully apply these truths, you're building an unshakeable foundation that will stand firm when the storms of life inevitably come. May this week be one of genuine spiritual growth and deeper intimacy with our Lord!
This Week's Key Takeaways:
- Scripture is Sufficient: God's Word thoroughly equips us for every spiritual need. We don't need to chase prophetic experiences or supernatural encounters beyond what Scripture provides (2 Timothy 3:16-17, KJV).
- Guard the Purity of God's Word: The proliferation of modern Bible versions demands our careful discernment. We must be faithful stewards of God's unchanging revelation, choosing translations that prioritise accuracy over contemporary trends.
- Test Everything Against Scripture: In an age of prophetic claims and spiritual experiences, believers must return to the Berean practice of testing all things against the written Word of God (Acts 17:11, KJV).
- Christianity Cannot Be Weaponised: True faith requires us to deny ourselves and take up our cross, not to use Christianity as a tool for personal, political, or social agendas. We must ask "What does God want?" rather than "How can I use my faith to get what I want?"
- Pass On the Legacy: We have a biblical mandate to equip the next generation for spiritual warfare. This requires intentional investment through relationship, example, and the faithful transfer of God's truth, spiritual disciplines, and testimonies of His faithfulness.
- Build on the Unshakeable Foundation: As 2026 approaches, we're called to build our lives on the solid rock of Christ and His Word—a foundation that will stand firm when the storms of life inevitably come (Matthew 7:24-25, KJV).
Standing Strong in Faith! You are equipped with God's strength to build an unshakeable faith—one that will inspire generations to come!
A Year of Faith, Growth, & Gratitude!
Looking Back & Moving Forward…
As we approach the close of 2025, my heart overflows with gratitude for each person who has walked alongside us in this journey of faith. This year has been one of incredible growth, transformation, and spiritual discovery, and it is only fitting that we pause to reflect on God's faithfulness and express our deepest thanks to you, our beloved community.
The apostle Paul wrote, "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you" (Philippians 1:3, KJV), and these words perfectly capture our sentiment. Your commitment to pursuing deeper spiritual understanding, your engagement with biblical teachings, and your willingness to apply God's Word to your daily lives has been a tremendous blessing and encouragement to us all.
Throughout 2025, we have witnessed remarkable testimonies of changed lives, strengthened faith, and renewed dedication to Christ. Together, we have explored the depths of Scripture, wrestled with challenging truths, and celebrated the victories that come from walking obediently with our Lord. The Bible reminds us, "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend" (Proverbs 27:17, KJV). Our community has truly embodied this principle, with each member contributing to the spiritual sharpening and growth of others.
As we embrace the truth of our walk with Christ, we must remember that our journey is not merely about accumulating knowledge but about transformation. Paul exhorted the Romans, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:2, KJV). This transformation has been evident in our community as we have collectively sought to build unshakeable spiritual foundations.
The truth we embrace is simple yet profound: Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6, KJV). In a world filled with uncertainty and shifting values, this unchanging truth has anchored us throughout 2025. Our walk with Him has taught us that genuine faith isn't passive but active—it requires daily commitment, sacrifice, and surrender to His perfect will.
As we look towards the future, we do so with great anticipation and hope. Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) assures us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end". God has plans for each of us—plans that exceed our imagination and bring glory to His name. Whatever 2026 holds, we can trust that He who began a good work in us will complete it (Philippians 1:6 KJV).
The future God has prepared for us is not one of stagnation but of continued growth, deeper intimacy with Him, and greater fruitfulness for His kingdom. As we move forward, let us remember Paul's words: "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13-14, KJV).
Thank you for being part of this extraordinary journey. Your faithfulness, prayers, and partnership in the Gospel have made this ministry what it is today. As we prepare to celebrate our Saviour's birth and step into a new year, let us do so with grateful hearts and expectant spirits, knowing that the best is yet to come for those who love and serve the Lord.
May God richly bless you and your families this Christmas season and throughout 2026. Together, let us continue building unshakeable faith that will inspire generations to come…
In Christ
David
