Week 13
Your Weekly Round-up Sunday!
Welcome to Week 13 of your Round-up Sunday! This week, we're diving deep into the spiritual battle that defines the Christian life, challenging the compromises creeping into modern Christianity, and equipping you to stand firm in faith no matter what storms lie ahead.
We begin with a powerful warning about Preaching a Worldly Gospel—a call to return to the pure, unadulterated truth of Scripture in an age where the Church faces mounting pressure to conform. This isn't just theological error; it's a spiritual catastrophe leading souls away from eternal truth.
Throughout the week, our daily content will fortify you for the fight:
- Monday - One Battle after Another! reminds us that Christian living is relentless spiritual warfare, but we fight from victory, not for it.
- Tuesday - Repelling the Fiery Darts of the Wicked! equips you to recognise the enemy's tactics and stand firm with the shield of faith.
- Wednesday - Batten Down the Hatches: A Storm is Coming! urges immediate spiritual preparation, because the battle is intensifying.
- Thursday - God's People Should Be Willing to Stand for God! challenges us to refuse compromise and live as bold witnesses in a world demanding conformity.
- Friday - Living Faith: The Transformative Power of Living Faith - Part Five concludes our teaching series, calling us to move beyond mere belief into a vibrant, living relationship with Christ that transforms us from the inside out.
Every piece of content this week—from our YouTube shorts to our in-depth teachings—is designed to strengthen your faith, sharpen your discernment, and equip you for the spiritual battle we're all facing. This is no time for casual Christianity. The storm is real, the enemy is active, but greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.
So grab your armour, stand firm in the Word, and let's press forward together in faith, boldness, and unwavering conviction...

Preaching a Worldly Gospel: A Warning for the Modern Church
A worldly gospel may sound appealing, but it leads souls astray—let us return to the pure, transformative truth of Scripture…
In an age where the Church faces increasing pressure from cultural trends and societal values, the danger of preaching a worldly gospel has never been more urgent. A worldly gospel compromises biblical truth to accommodate human preferences, watering down the demands of Scripture and reshaping Christ's message to fit ever-changing worldly values. This departure from sound doctrine is not merely a theological error—it is a spiritual catastrophe that leads souls away from truth and into eternal peril.
Listen, a worldly gospel prioritises human comfort, prosperity, and acceptance over repentance, holiness, and the fear of God. It preaches a "feel-good" message that avoids the uncomfortable truths of sin, judgement, and the cost of discipleship. The Apostle Paul warned the Galatians: "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel" (Galatians 1:6-7, KJV). This perverted gospel may invoke Christ's name, but it lacks the power to save because it distorts the message of the cross, telling people what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear.
The worldly gospel is attractive because it requires little from its hearers—promising blessing without obedience, grace without repentance, and heaven without holiness. Yet Jesus made it crystal clear: "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24, KJV). This false message thrives in churches more concerned with attendance numbers and public approval than faithfulness to Scripture.
Here is the sobering reality: the consequences are severe. Teachers who lead others astray bear terrible responsibility before God (James 3:1 KJV). For hearers, a worldly gospel offers false assurance, convincing people they are saved when they have never truly repented. Jesus warned: "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 7:21, KJV). Many will stand before Christ confident in their salvation, only to hear: "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:23, KJV).
But there is more. A worldly gospel also weakens the Church, leaving believers without the spiritual nourishment needed to grow in holiness and withstand temptation. Paul warned Timothy of a time when people would no longer tolerate sound doctrine, turning instead to teachers who tell them what their itching ears want to hear (2 Timothy 4:3-4).
So what is the remedy? A return to the pure, unadulterated Word of God. Preachers must faithfully proclaim the whole counsel of Scripture—including hard truths about sin, repentance, and judgement. The true gospel is not a message of convenience but of transformation, calling sinners to repentance and offering forgiveness through Christ's blood.
In a culture that increasingly rejects absolute truth, the Church must stand firm. We are called to preach Christ crucified—a message that is "unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God" (1 Corinthians 1:23-24, KJV). Let us not be swayed by the desire for approval or fear of rejection, but boldly declare the unchanging truth of Jesus Christ…

One Battle after Another!
An Account of Never-Ending Spiritual Warfare…

The Battle Is Real, But So Is the Victory
If you have been walking with Christ for any length of time, you already know this: the Christian life is not a quiet stroll, it is a battle. And it is not one battle that comes and goes, but one battle after another. From the moment we came to the Lord, we stepped into a very real spiritual war, and Scripture makes it plain that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness in high places.
But here is the encouragement: we are not fighting to win, we are fighting from victory. Jesus has already triumphed, and we are called to stand in what He has secured. That means staying sober and vigilant, refusing a comfortable, watered-down gospel, and putting on the whole armour of God. These battles are not pointless either. God uses them to refine us, strengthen us, and mature our faith.
And finally, never forget this: you are not alone. The enemy loves to isolate, but God is faithful, and He will make a way to endure. So keep your armour on, keep your sword sharp, and keep fighting the good fight of faith…

Repelling the Fiery Darts of the Wicked!
Standing Firm on the Front Lines of God's Army…

Recognising the Enemy's Tactics
If you are serving the Lord, understand this: the battle is real and relentless. The enemy's fiery darts are designed to weaken your faith through doubt, discouragement, temptation, accusation, and distraction. Our fight is not against flesh and blood, so we must answer with God's armour, not carnal reactions.
The shield of faith is vital—it is active trust in God's Word, even when circumstances feel overwhelming. Do not pick and choose parts of the armour. When pressure increases, it often means you are effective, and the enemy is trying to stop what God is doing through you.
Do not isolate or give in. Submit to God, resist the devil, and keep standing. Stay close to the Lord in prayer, keep Scripture in your heart, and remember you are not fighting alone. The battle belongs to the Lord, and victory is already secured in Christ. Lift the shield, stand firm, and press on…

Batten Down the Hatches: A Storm is Coming!
Are You Armed for the Spiritual Storm Ahead?

Equip Yourself with Faith & Scripture Before the Battle Intensifies…
In "Batten Down the Hatches: A Storm is Coming!" we're confronted with the urgent reality that spiritual warfare is not a distant threat but a present battle demanding our immediate attention and preparation. As believers, we face an enemy who is real, strategic, and intent on destroying our faith and effectiveness for God's Kingdom. Just as sailors prepare their ships when they see a storm approaching, we must spiritually prepare ourselves by acknowledging the turbulent spiritual climate we're living in and securing our foundation in God's Word. The shield of faith, built through consistent engagement with Scripture, enables us to deflect every accusation, doubt, and temptation the enemy hurls at us, whilst the sword of the Spirit—the Word of God itself—equips us to fight offensively, just as Jesus did when He faced Satan's temptations in the wilderness. This is no time for casual, comfortable Christianity or spiritual complacency; rather, it's the hour for the Church to rise up in boldness and courage, fully armed with God's provision, standing firm in the faith regardless of the intensity of the storm. Though the battle is real and the darkness is growing, we fight from a position of victory because greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, and Christ has already secured the ultimate triumph at Calvary…

God’s People should be willing to Stand for God!
When the world demands compromise, will you stand for God?

Standing Firm: God's Call for His People to Be Courageous Witnesses
In a world demanding compromise, Christians are called to stand boldly for God, as faithful believers have done throughout Scripture. From Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace to Peter's transformed boldness after Pentecost, God's people have demonstrated that true faith refuses to bow to earthly pressures. Our willingness to stand must be rooted in our identity as God's children, empowered by the Spirit of adoption rather than fear. Jesus made clear that confessing Him before men is a public declaration requiring courage and conviction, with eternal consequences for those who deny Him.
Standing for God will cost us something. The world may hate us, we may face persecution and lose friendships or opportunities, but the cost of compromise is far greater—the loss of our testimony and the grieving of the Holy Spirit. Yet we do not stand in our own strength. God has equipped us with the full armour needed to withstand spiritual opposition, and He promises to be with us wherever we go. These days demand that we speak truth boldly, for the gospel is the power of God unto salvation, and there is no middle ground regarding Christ's exclusive claims.
God seeks men and women who will stand in the gap, refuse to compromise, and live lives reflecting His holiness. The world is watching, eternity is at stake, and the time for timidity has passed. Will you be counted amongst those unashamed of the gospel? Will you stand firm in faith, bold in witness, and unwavering in conviction until Christ returns? May we be found faithful, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing our labour is not in vain…

Living Faith: The Transformative Power of Living Faith - Part Five
When faith comes alive, everything changes—from the inside out and beyond…

The Journey of Living Faith
This five-part series on Living Faith explores what it truly means to possess a faith that transforms lives rather than merely affirming doctrine. Throughout the series, we've journeyed from understanding faith's foundation as "the substance of things hoped for" to seeing how authentic faith must actively express itself through obedience, service, witness, and love. The central challenge presented is simple yet profound: dead faith can quote Scripture and attend church, but living faith bows the knee, steps forward in obedience, and demonstrates God's transforming power through changed lives. Drawing from passages like James 2:26 KJV, Hebrews 11 KJV, and Galatians 5:6 KJV, this teaching reminds us that whilst works cannot earn salvation, genuine saving faith will naturally produce fruit. The series concludes with a stirring call to examine whether our faith is truly alive—not just in what we say we believe, but in how we walk daily. Living faith doesn't settle for comfortable agreement; it forgives when wounded, serves when no one applauds, speaks truth when silence feels safer, and loves sacrificially even when it costs something. This teaching challenges believers to move beyond religious routine into a vibrant, living relationship with Christ that transforms us from the inside out and then reaches beyond ourselves to impact our families, churches, and communities for His glory…

From Debate to Doing: Why Doctrine Must Be Lived, Not Just Argued
When belief becomes behaviour, doctrine proves its worth…
Here's something that's been troubling me lately—and I need to be straight with you about it. The modern Church has a serious problem, and it's not what you might think. It's not persecution from the world or the rise of false teachers (though those are real concerns). No, the issue I'm seeing is far more insidious: we've become a Church that endlessly debates doctrine whilst rarely actually living it out.
We've turned into experts at dissecting Scripture, building elaborate theological frameworks, and winning arguments about interpretations. But somewhere along the way, we've forgotten something crucial—the Gospel was never meant to be merely discussed. It was meant to transform us, to be lived in our daily walk.
Paul warned Timothy about this very thing. Listen—if your doctrine doesn't lead to godliness, it's worthless. I don't care how theologically sound it appears on paper. If your theology doesn't result in a transformed life, it's not the doctrine of Christ—it's just noise, religious intellectualism that puffs up but doesn't build up.
Here's my litmus test, and I challenge you to apply it: if you can't put a doctrine into practice, then something's wrong with that doctrine. It doesn't matter how eloquently you can argue it or how internally consistent your theological system appears. If it doesn't produce obedience, holiness, love, and the fruit of the Spirit in your actual life, then it's not biblical doctrine.
James didn't mince words: "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." We've deceived ourselves into thinking that studying the Word, attending Bible studies, and engaging in heated theological debates is somehow a substitute for actually doing what it says. Our lives remain virtually unchanged whilst our knowledge grows.
Jesus made it crystal clear: "If ye love me, keep my commandments." He didn't say, "If you love me, attend seminary." He didn't say, "If you love me, win theological arguments." The measure of our love for Christ is simple—do we actually do what He says?
I'll tell you what the real problem is with endless doctrinal debate—it becomes a comfortable substitute for genuine spiritual transformation. It's far easier to argue about predestination or debate end-times theology than to forgive someone who's wronged you, to love your enemy, or to give sacrificially when it actually costs you something. We've become a Church of scholars rather than disciples, and that should trouble us deeply.
True doctrine—genuine biblical doctrine—always produces fruit. Jesus said, "Ye shall know them by their fruits." So here's the question: what fruit is your theology producing? If it's producing pride, division, and inaction, it's not from God. If it's producing humility, unity, and obedience, then it bears the mark of the Holy Spirit.
Look at the early Church in Acts. They didn't have systematic theology textbooks. They didn't have seminary degrees or doctrinal statements running to hundreds of pages. What did they have? They had the testimony of the apostles and the power of the Holy Spirit. And what did they do? They shared everything in common, cared for the poor, healed the sick, and turned the world upside down. Their doctrine was inseparable from their practice—they didn't just know the truth; they lived it.
Here's the uncomfortable truth I need to share with you: if your theology doesn't translate into how you treat your spouse, how you spend your money, how you use your time, and how you respond to injustice, then your theology is deficient. Full stop. If it doesn't make you more like Christ in your daily life—in the mundane moments, in the difficult situations, in the choices no one else sees—then it's not the doctrine of Christ. It's the doctrine of men.
So here's my challenge to you: take your doctrine and put it into practice. If you believe in grace, show grace to others. If you believe in mercy, be merciful. If you believe in Scripture's sufficiency, then obey it. True doctrine always produces true discipleship—always.
Let's stop arguing about the Word and start living it. That's the call of the Gospel, that's the mark of a true disciple, and that's the only doctrine worth holding onto…

Enemies of the Gospel!
Recognising and resisting the forces that oppose God's truth...
Look, I need to be straight with you about something that's been weighing heavily on my heart. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most powerful force for salvation and transformation this world has ever seen. But here's the thing—from the very beginning, it's faced relentless opposition. And if we're going to defend the faith and live victoriously in Christ, we need to understand exactly what we're up against.
Let me tell you about the first enemy, and it's perhaps the most dangerous because it's so subtle—false doctrine. Paul didn't hold back when he wrote to the Galatians: "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ" (Galatians 1:6-7 KJV). Here's what troubles me—false teaching doesn't always announce itself with obvious error. It creeps in as a slight deviation, a minor adjustment to Scripture. But listen carefully: any gospel that adds to or subtracts from salvation by grace through faith alone isn't the Gospel at all. We've got to stay vigilant, testing every teaching against the whole counsel of God's Word.
The second enemy is worldliness, and we're drowning in it. John makes it crystal clear: "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him" (1 John 2:15 KJV). The world's values, its priorities, its pleasures—they all stand in direct opposition to the Gospel's call to holiness and separation. When we become entangled with worldly pursuits, the Gospel's transforming power gets diminished in our lives, and our witness becomes compromised. It's that simple—we cannot serve two masters. We must choose whom we will follow.
Then there's persecution—another formidable foe. Throughout history, the Gospel has been opposed through imprisonment, torture and martyrdom. Jesus warned us this would happen: "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you" (John 15:18 KJV). Persecution tries to silence the Gospel through fear and intimidation. But here's what I find remarkable—history shows us that the blood of the martyrs has often become the seed of the Church. Persecution frequently results in the Gospel's advancement rather than its defeat.
Now here's the enemy that troubles me most because we don't talk about it enough—apathy amongst believers. When Christians become complacent, comfortable and indifferent to the lost, the Gospel's spread gets hindered more effectively than through any external opposition. James puts it bluntly: "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin" (James 4:17 KJV). Our silence and inaction? They represent a betrayal of the Great Commission and leave countless souls in darkness.
Finally, we must recognise Satan himself as the ultimate enemy of the Gospel. Peter's warning is stark: "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8 KJV). The enemy of our souls works tirelessly to blind minds to the Gospel's truth and to steal the seed of God's Word from hearts.
But here's the truth that should encourage every one of us—despite these formidable enemies, the Gospel remains triumphant. Jesus declared, "I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18 KJV). So what's our responsibility? It's to remain faithful, to contend earnestly for the faith, and to proclaim the Gospel boldly, knowing that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world…
With Christ's love,
Dave & Elaine
