Week 14
Your Weekly Round-up Sunday!
Welcome to Week 14 of Round-up Sunday! As we step into Easter week, we are slowing right down and fixing our eyes where they belong: on Jesus Christ—the promised One—walking straight into prophecy, the cross, and the empty tomb. This week is not about atmosphere or tradition; it is about the Lamb of God who came on purpose, loved on purpose, and finished the work of redemption on purpose.
Across the week, we’ll journey day by day through the final stretch of Jesus’ earthly ministry, from the Triumphal Entry to Resurrection hope. On Monday we reflect on The Triumphal Entry & the King Who Came in Humility. Tuesday takes us to The Last Supper, the New Covenant, & the Garden of Gethsemane. Wednesday brings us to the heart of it all in The Trial, Crucifixion, & Death of the Lamb of God. Thursday we sit in the weight and wonder of The Silence of the Tomb & the Harrowing of Hell. Then on Friday we rejoice together in He Is Risen! The Empty Tomb & the Victory Over Death.
This week only, we are making a small change to the usual format. You will still get the full written journey here, but the daily teaching videos will be released into other playlists across the YouTube channel instead of being paired directly with each blog post.
So please take a little extra time to read, pray, and reflect. Let the Word do its work in you, and let the Spirit bring you back to the wonder of Christ...
With Christ’s love,
Dave & Elaine

Jesus Christ at the Centre of Easter Week (Part 1 of 2)
As we step into this momentous Easter week, I want us to slow down and remember something the world often forgets: this week is not about tradition, chocolate, or religious atmosphere. This week is about Jesus Christ—the promised One—walking straight into prophecy and fulfilling it in full view of heaven and earth.
From Genesis to Malachi, God had been painting a picture. Not a vague outline either, but a detailed portrait: the Seed of the woman (Genesis 3:15 KJV), the Passover Lamb (Exodus 12 KJV), the Prophet like unto Moses (Deuteronomy 18:15 KJV), the Son of David whose kingdom would have no end (2 Samuel 7:12–13 KJV), the suffering Servant who would bear iniquity (Isaiah 53 KJV), the King who would come lowly and riding upon an ass (Zechariah 9:9 KJV), the One betrayed for thirty pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12–13 KJV), the One whose hands and feet would be pierced (Psalm 22:16 KJV), the One whose bones would not be broken (Psalm 34:20 KJV), the One whose very death would not be the end (Psalm 16:10 KJV). These were not scattered religious ideas. These were divine promises with a Name written all over them.
And when Jesus entered Jerusalem, He did not stumble into the climax of history by accident. He came on purpose. He came knowing the cup before Him. He came knowing the betrayal, the false witnesses, the mocking, the scourging, the nails, and the darkness. This was not the tragedy of a good man who got caught in political forces. This was the Lamb of God walking forward to take away the sin of the world.
That’s why Easter week confronts every half-hearted version of Christianity. It confronts the comfortable gospel that wants Christ without a cross. It confronts the shallow “God wants me happy” message that cannot explain Calvary. Because the Bible doesn’t present the cross as an unfortunate event—it presents it as the very plan of God unfolding right on schedule.
And here is the glory of it all: prophecy wasn’t fulfilled merely to prove God can predict the future. Prophecy was fulfilled to show us that God is faithful, and that salvation is sure. When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He was not just speaking about pain ending—He was declaring that the work was accomplished. The debt was paid. The wrath was satisfied. The door of mercy was opened.
So as we begin this week, I want you to see Jesus Christ as the fulfilment of every promise God ever made concerning redemption. He is not a religious option; He is the centre. He is not a moral example; He is the Saviour. He is not simply a teacher; He is the Truth. And if He fulfilled prophecy so perfectly then, you can trust Him completely now.
Because Easter week is not just a story we remember—it is a King we must respond to…

The Triumphal Entry & the King Who Came in Humility
When the King of Heaven chose humility over power, riding a donkey into destiny…

A Moment Suspended in Time
Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem was a deliberate fulfilment of prophecy, revealing Him as the promised King who chose humility over spectacle by riding in on a donkey. As the crowds cried “Hosanna,” they praised Him as deliverer, yet many carried expectations of political rescue rather than the deeper salvation He came to bring. Even in the celebration, Jesus wept over Jerusalem, showing compassion for hearts that would soon reject Him and warning of the cost of spiritual blindness. The moment calls every believer to examine whether their worship is steady and surrendered, and to follow Christ’s upside-down kingdom marked by service, obedience, and faithfulness as they await His return in glory…

The Last Supper, the New Covenant, & the Garden of Gethsemane
A profound journey through Christ's final hours before the cross, revealing His willing sacrifice and the establishment of the new covenant through His blood…

The Significance of Christ's Sacrifice
The Last Supper marks a pivotal moment in Christian history, transitioning from the old covenant to the new. As Jesus celebrated Passover with His disciples, He fulfilled its meaning as the true Lamb of God. He established the new covenant prophesied by Jeremiah, inscribed on human hearts through His coming sacrifice.
The broken bread and poured wine proclaimed what Jesus would endure within hours. His body would be broken, His blood shed for sin's remission. Communion calls believers to remember His sacrifice and proclaim His death until He returns, examining our hearts as we partake.
At Gethsemane, humanity's sin pressed upon Jesus with crushing force. His anguish was so intense He sweated drops of blood. Yet Jesus demonstrated perfect submission to the Father's will, choosing obedience despite His human desire to avoid suffering. Three times He prayed for the cup to pass, yet each time surrendered to God's redemptive purpose.
These events fulfilled ancient prophecies and revealed God's salvation plan. Jesus's willing sacrifice, His establishment of the new covenant, and His example of submission provide profound lessons for believers today. When we face difficult moments of obedience, we can take comfort knowing Christ understands our struggles, having been tempted in all points yet without sin. His victory assures us that despite tribulation, we too can overcome through faith in Him…

The Trial, Crucifixion, & Death of the Lamb of God
Discover how the trial, crucifixion, and death of Jesus Christ fulfilled prophecy and demonstrated God's ultimate love—the Lamb of God who paid the price for our redemption…

The Prophecies Fulfilled
The trial, crucifixion, and death of Jesus Christ stand as the pivotal moment in human history—the ultimate demonstration of God's love for a fallen world. This teaching explores the profound events of Jesus's final hours, from the unjust trials before religious and political authorities to His willing sacrifice on the cross at Golgotha. Despite facing false accusations, brutal scourging, and the mockery of those He came to save, Jesus remained the silent Lamb, fulfilling centuries of prophecy with every step towards Calvary. His cry of "It is finished" wasn't defeat but victory—the complete payment for humanity's sin debt. As Isaiah prophesied, He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities, bearing the punishment we deserved so that we might receive the grace we could never earn. The torn temple veil, the earthquake, and even the Roman centurion's declaration all testified to this truth: the Son of God had died to reconcile us to the Father. This teaching invites you to contemplate afresh the cost of your redemption and to respond with gratitude to the One who loved you enough to endure the cross for your sake…

The Silence of the Tomb & the Harrowing of Hell
When silence spoke louder than words — Christ's descent into death became our doorway to life…

The Mystery of Holy Saturday
Between the cross and the empty tomb lies a holy silence that looks like defeat, but is actually the unfolding of God’s greatest victory. This teaching explores Holy Saturday through the “sign of Jonah,” showing that Jesus truly died, was truly buried, and yet His mission did not pause in the tomb. While the disciples sat in grief and confusion, Christ descended to the lower parts of the earth and proclaimed triumph over sin, death, and hell, proving that no realm is beyond His authority. The message turns that mystery into assurance for everyday faith: God is still working in the waiting, death has lost its sting, and nothing in heaven, earth, or the unseen world can separate those in Christ from the love of God…

He Is Risen! The Empty Tomb & the Victory Over Death
When death couldn't hold Him, hope was born for all eternity…

The Promise of Eternal Life
The resurrection of Jesus Christ stands as the cornerstone of Christian faith, marking the moment when death itself was defeated and eternal hope was secured for all believers. On that first Easter morning, faithful women discovered the empty tomb, greeted by an angel proclaiming the words that echo through eternity: "He is not here: for he is risen." This pivotal event transformed the cross from a symbol of defeat into a declaration of victory. The risen Christ appeared to many witnesses, from Mary Magdalene to His disciples, transforming their grief into joy and establishing the truth of His triumph over death. Foretold centuries earlier through the prophets, the resurrection fulfilled ancient prophecies and confirmed God's sovereign plan of redemption. As the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep, Jesus's victory guarantees resurrection for all who belong to Him. Because He conquered death, believers need not fear the grave—its sting has been removed and its power broken. The empty tomb changes everything: forgiveness is real, hope is certain, and eternal life is secure. This glorious gospel calls us to live confidently in resurrection power, knowing that no matter how dark Friday becomes, Sunday is coming. The King has risen, and because He lives, we too shall live eternally…

Jesus Christ at the Centre of Easter Week (Part 2 of 2)
Now, let’s bring this right into the present, because this is where Easter week becomes personal. Jesus did not fulfil prophecy simply to impress scholars or silence sceptics. He fulfilled prophecy because God was coming after you and me.
When you read Isaiah 53 and see that the Messiah would be “wounded for our transgressions” and “bruised for our iniquities,” you’re not reading poetry—you’re reading your salvation written down centuries before it happened. When Psalm 22 describes rejection, mocking, thirst, pierced hands and feet, and garments being parted, you are watching the Holy Ghost testify beforehand of the cross. And when Jesus steps into that suffering, He is not only proving He is the Christ—He is bearing what we deserved.
That is what Jesus means to us today: He is God’s answer to sin. Not self-improvement. Not religion. Not church attendance. Sin is not solved by trying harder; sin is solved by a Substitute. And Jesus Christ is that Substitute. He is the Lamb without blemish, the righteous One taking the place of the unrighteous. The cross is where God’s justice and God’s mercy meet, and neither is compromised.
But Easter week doesn’t stop at the cross. Prophecy also declared resurrection. “Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption” (Psalm 16:10 KJV). Jesus did not merely die; He rose again. He walked out of the tomb as the living proof that the Father accepted the sacrifice. That means our faith is not wishful thinking—it is anchored in victory. Death is not ultimate. The grave is not final. The enemy is not undefeated. Jesus Christ has triumphed.
And what does that mean for us in a world that is darkening by the day? It means we are not called to a timid, private faith that hides in the shadows. If Christ publicly fulfilled prophecy and publicly bore shame for us, then we must not be ashamed to confess Him before men. Easter week calls the believer back to boldness. Back to holiness. Back to truth. Back to a living faith that doesn’t just sing about Jesus but follows Him.
Let me say this plainly: the fulfilled prophecies demand a verdict. You cannot keep Jesus as a sentimental figure in your mind. He is either the promised Christ, the Son of the living God, the only Saviour of sinners—or He is nothing at all. And the Bible makes it clear: there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.
So as we move through this week—toward the cross and toward the empty tomb—let your heart be brought back to the wonder of it: God kept His word. God sent His Son. God provided salvation. And God is still calling people, right now, to repent, to believe the gospel, and to follow Jesus Christ with a whole heart.
Because He didn’t just fulfil prophecy back then. He is fulfilling His work in us today—and He will fulfil every promise still to come…
With Christ's love,
Dave & Elaine
