Week 15
Your Weekly Round-up Sunday!
After a momentous Easter celebration, we are reminded again that the cross and the empty tomb are not just events we remember—they are the victories we live from. Jesus has accomplished what we could never accomplish: He bore our sin, satisfied God’s righteous judgement, broke the power of death, and secured a living hope that strengthens us for everyday obedience.
Easter also sets our direction for the rest of the year. Because Christ lives, we do not have to be led by guilt, fear, or uncertainty. We can walk forward with a clean conscience, renewed purpose, and steady faith—rooted in God’s Word and led by His Spirit.
So as we step into Week 15, let this Round-up do three things for you:
- Reset your heart in gratitude for what Christ has done.
- Re-focus your mind on what is true, not what is merely felt.
- Re-commit your steps to simple, faithful obedience—one day at a time.
This week’s line-up is full and faith-building, with a clear theme running through it: the difference between merely knowing truth and actually living it.
We begin with Spirit-Led Christianity & end with Are You Ready? to set the tone for the week, then move through:
- Monday’s Something to Think About - Knowing vs. Doing: The Missing Piece in Bible Content
- Tuesday’s Messages from the Outpost - When Actions Speak Louder than Words!
- Wednesday’s Write this Down - From Doctrine to Discipleship: Living What You Believe
- Thursday’s Messages from the Outpost - From Debate to Doing: Why Doctrine Must Be Lived, Not Just Argued
- Friday’s Back to Basics - The "How To" Series: An Introduction!
To round everything off, you’ll also find our weekly YouTube schedule, playlist links, podcast highlights, and our social links so you can watch, listen, and share across Facebook, X, Threads, Instagram, and YouTube.

Spirit-Led Christianity
Moving beyond soul-orientated living…
In today’s modern church landscape, many believers are being pulled in two very different directions. On one hand, there is a kind of Christianity that is driven mostly by feelings, atmosphere, and personal preference. On the other hand, there is Spirit-led Christianity—rooted in the Word of God and guided by the Holy Spirit. If we’re going to walk in the fullness of what Christ has provided, we must learn the difference, because the direction we choose will shape our faith, our stability, and our witness.
Jesus never intended for His people to live powerless, confused, or constantly led by emotions. He made it clear that something greater was coming. He told His disciples it was actually better for them that He would go away, because He would send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit (John 16:7 KJV). That promise wasn’t simply to comfort them in His absence—it was to empower them with God’s presence within them. And when the day of Pentecost arrived, the Spirit was poured out in power, marking the beginning of a new way of living for every believer (Acts 2:1-2 KJV).
The danger is that many Christians still live as though Pentecost never happened. Soul-orientated Christianity operates from the realm of emotions, reasoning, and natural reactions. Now, emotions are real—but they were never meant to be the steering wheel of your spiritual life. When feelings lead, truth often gets compromised. Doctrine becomes flexible. Conviction gets replaced with comfort. The result is instability.
Paul warned about this contrast clearly: those who live after the flesh mind the things of the flesh, but those who live after the Spirit mind the things of the Spirit (Romans 8:5-6 KJV). When a believer is led by emotions, they can be pulled in every direction—up when things feel good, down when things feel hard. James says a double-minded person is unstable in all their ways (James 1:8 KJV), and that is exactly what happens when we build our walk on feelings rather than on faith.
Spirit-led Christianity is different. It is not hype. It is not performance. It is surrender. Paul commands us plainly: walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16 KJV). The Holy Spirit doesn’t just give moments—He gives direction. He guides into truth (John 16:13 KJV), and He never contradicts Scripture because He authored it (2 Peter 1:21 KJV). That’s why Spirit-led living must always be Word-led living (Psalm 119:105 KJV).
And when we live this way, real transformation follows. God changes us from glory to glory by His Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV), producing fruit that human effort can’t manufacture (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
So here’s the call: stop living by spiritual mood swings. Choose to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18 KJV). The world doesn’t need another emotional display—it needs to see authentic Christianity, led by the Spirit and grounded in the Word…

Knowing vs. Doing: The Missing Piece in Bible Content
Because knowing God's Word is just the beginning—living it changes everything…

The Missing Application in Modern Christian Content
Modern Christian content floods believers with biblical information yet critically lacks practical application, creating a dangerous gap between knowing God's Word and living it. Jesus warned that only those who do the Father's will shall enter the kingdom (Matthew 7:21, KJV). James declares that consuming content without application is self-deception—we feel spiritually productive whilst remaining stagnant (James 1:22, KJV). It's like looking in a mirror, seeing the mess, and walking away without washing your face (James 1:23-24, KJV). Teaching information is easier than modelling transformation, our culture values information consumption over life change, and application requires confronting sin and changing habits. Scripture consistently emphasises doing over knowing. Our claim to know God is validated by obedience, not theological knowledge (1 John 2:3-4, KJV). The Word becomes transformative only when we allow it to penetrate our lives, not just our minds (Hebrews 4:12, KJV). Jesus promised freedom comes from living out His Word (John 8:31-32, KJV). True wisdom isn't accumulating information—it's fearing God and departing from evil (Proverbs 3:7, KJV). Content creators must shift from informing minds to transforming lives. Content consumers must ask: Am I learning more whilst changing less? "Faith without works is dead" (James 2:20, KJV)—Bible knowledge without application is lifeless Christianity. The world needs believers who live it out with authenticity and transformative power…

When Actions Speak Louder than Words!
Your life can be the introduction that makes someone willing to hear the Gospel…

When your life preaches before your lips ever do
This teaching reminds us that the world is not just listening to what Christians say, it is watching how Christians live. In a loud age, empty religion and hypocrisy harden hearts, but a faithful, honest, Christlike walk can open the door for the Gospel to be heard. Scripture shows that real faith is visible and produces fruit, so our conduct in the home, at work, in our communities, and even in suffering becomes a living testimony that people can “behold.” Good works do not save anyone, but they can silence accusations, soften suspicion, and create space for truth. Then, when the door opens, we must be ready to speak of Christ plainly with meekness, giving the reason for our hope, so that those who have seen the Gospel in action may hear the Gospel in words and be pointed to repentance and faith in the risen Lord…

From Doctrine to Discipleship: Living What You Believe
Why knowing the truth isn't enough—and what God calls us to do about it…

The Crisis of Knowledge Without Action
The modern Church faces a profound crisis: we've become experts in theology but failures in application. We can quote Scripture, debate doctrine, and fill notebooks with sermon notes, yet our lives often look no different from the world around us. This dangerous disconnect between what we know and how we live is what James warned against when he wrote about being "doers of the word, and not hearers only." True doctrine always produces true discipleship—you cannot genuinely believe something without it affecting how you live. The problem isn't that we lack information; we have more Bible translations, commentaries, and teaching resources than any generation in history. The problem is that we've mistaken accumulating knowledge for spiritual growth, creating a Christianity of the mind that never reaches the hands and feet. Jesus didn't call us to be scholars; He called us to be disciples—learners who follow by doing, not just listening. When Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments," He made it clear that love is demonstrated through obedience, not intellectual agreement. The early Church understood this inseparable connection between belief and practice. When they believed in the resurrection, they lived with radical generosity. When they understood grace, they extended it to outcasts. Their doctrine created culture, and culture reinforced practice. It's time for the Church to stop playing at Christianity and start living it. We need Christians who will take the doctrine they claim to believe and put it into practice—people whose lives are living proof that the Gospel is true, that God is real, and that His Word transforms everything it touches...

From Debate to Doing: Why Doctrine Must Be Lived, Not Just Argued
When belief becomes behaviour, doctrine proves its worth…

The Measure of True Doctrine: Does It Transform Lives?
This teaching confronts a sobering reality within the modern Church: we have become experts at debating doctrine whilst failing miserably at living it. We can argue endlessly about theological fine points, dissect Scripture with scholarly precision, and defend our doctrinal positions with passion—yet our lives often remain unchanged, unfruitful, and unmistakeably unlike Christ. The uncomfortable truth is that if our theology doesn't translate into how we treat our spouse, spend our money, use our time, and respond to injustice, then it's not the doctrine of Christ—it's merely the doctrine of men. Jesus made it clear that the proof of genuine discipleship is not in our knowledge but in our obedience, and James warned that hearing without doing is self-deception. The early Church didn't have systematic theology textbooks or seminary degrees, yet they turned the world upside down because their doctrine was inseparable from their practice. Today's challenge is simple but profound: take your doctrine and put it into practice. If you believe in grace, show grace. If you believe in mercy, be merciful. If you believe in the sufficiency of Scripture, obey it. True doctrine always produces true discipleship, and if it doesn't, then it's just another conversation that leads nowhere. It's time to stop arguing about the Word and start living it—that's the call of the Gospel and the mark of a genuine disciple…

Easter: Thankful Hearts, Steady Feet, Eyes Ahead
Easter is more than a date we pass through. It is the foundation we stand on. At the cross, Jesus Christ did not simply show us what love looks like. He carried our sin, took our judgement, and paid what we could never pay. That sacrifice still speaks today, right here in the present day, when life feels busy, uncertain, and at times heavy.
And then there is the empty tomb. Resurrection is not a nice ending to a story. It is God’s declaration that death is defeated, hope is alive, and new life is available. Because Christ lives, we do not have to be defined by what happened last year, last week, or even this morning. We can repent, we can rise, and we can walk forward in obedience with a clean heart and a clear conscience.
As you anticipate the year ahead, let Easter shape your outlook. Give thanks, not just for what God has done, but for what He is doing in you. If you are weary, the risen Lord strengthens. If you are anxious, He is faithful. If you are unsure, His Word is sure.
Let’s live this year like the resurrection is true. Let’s be doers, not just hearers. Let’s pray, forgive, serve, and shine.
With Christ’s love,
Dave & Elaine

Are You Ready?
This is a wake-up call, not a scare tactic. The question is not whether the world is ready. The question is whether we are ready…
When we were younger, we played hide and seek. Someone would count with their eyes covered, then shout, “Ready or not, here I come!” It was thrilling because it was only a game. But when Heaven asks the question, it carries eternal weight. And if we are honest, many believers live as though the Lord’s return is far off, as though eternity is for other people, and as though death is just a rumour that happens somewhere else.
But the Bible does not treat eternity like a suggestion. Jesus warned that His coming would catch people in the middle of ordinary life: eating, drinking, marrying, building, buying, selling. Not necessarily doing wicked things, but doing normal things with no spiritual awareness. And He said plainly to His people: “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” (Matthew 24:44 KJV) That is not written to produce panic. It is written to produce preparation.
One of the most sobering truths is that you can be around the things of God and still become spiritually drowsy. You can know the language and the routines, and still lose the fire. Paul wrote, “Now it is high time to awake out of sleep.” (Romans 13:11 KJV) Spiritual sleep is when you stop watching, stop discerning, and stop caring about what grieves the Spirit. And the world is designed to sedate you, not always with “big” sins, but with distraction, comfort, busyness, and the constant pressure of life. Jesus warned that hearts can be weighed down with excess, intoxication, and the cares of this life until that day arrives unawares. (Luke 21:34 KJV)
Some talk about the Lord’s return only to prove they have cracked the calendar. But readiness is not about charts. It is about closeness. Jesus said, “Watch therefore.” (Matthew 24:42 KJV) If the timing is unknown, the only safe posture is watching: watching your heart, your walk, your doctrine, and the times with sober discernment. That is why the call is simple: stay clean, stay filled, stay faithful.
In the parable of the ten virgins, everyone looked the same on the outside. Everyone had a lamp. But when the cry came, only some had oil. (Matthew 25:4-6 KJV) You cannot borrow spiritual life at the last minute. You cannot borrow intimacy, obedience, or a secret place. Oil speaks of what is real and personal: a real prayer life, a real appetite for Scripture, a real hatred for sin, and a real walk in the Spirit.
People imagine readiness as a dramatic final moment, but most of the Christian life is quiet faithfulness. Jesus said the blessed servant is the one found “so doing.” (Matthew 24:46 KJV) Readiness looks like repentance, forgiveness, honesty, purity, humility, and consistent obedience. And it is not only about avoiding sin. It is about doing the will of God. (James 4:17 KJV)
So what does “ready” look like this week? Stay repentant (1 John 1:9 KJV), stay in the Word (Psalm 119:11 KJV), stay prayerful (Matthew 26:41 KJV), stay loving (1 Peter 4:8 KJV), and stay useful (Luke 19:13 KJV).
This is not a countdown clock. It is a consecrated life. Are you ready?
With Christ's love,
Dave & Elaine
