Welcome to this week's Round-up Sunday — your look ahead at everything landing over the next seven days, gathered into one place. The thread running through it is the one that never changes: the Word of God is our standard — test everything by it, then do it.

The Danger of Wrong Translation & Taking Things Out of Context!
Understanding God's Word rightly — because truth matters more than tradition…
There has never been more Bible teaching within reach — and never more of it handled carelessly. We have more translations, more study notes and more commentary at our fingertips than any generation before us, yet ready access is no guarantee of careful handling. A verse lifted here, a phrase twisted there, a translation chosen because it suits the point rather than tells the truth. And a text taken out of its setting is no longer a text at all; it becomes a "pretext" — a springboard for our own ideas dressed up as the Word of God.
Jesus put His finger on it when He faced the religious men of His day: Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God [Matthew 22:29 KJV]. Their error was not a small slip of the mind. It shaped how they saw God, how they lived, and how they led others astray. Mishandle the Word, and you will mishandle your walk — and likely lead others to do the same.
Start where it matters most — the Word is God-breathed and final: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness [2 Timothy 3:16 KJV]. If it is that precious, it deserves to be handled with care, not convenience. Paul's charge to Timothy still stands: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth [2 Timothy 2:15 KJV]. Rightly dividing means reading a verse in its setting — who is writing, to whom, and why — not snatching it out to prove a point it was never making.
Context is everything. Take one verse from the middle of a chapter, ignore what sits before and after, and you can make Scripture appear to say almost anything. That is exactly how the enemy works. When he tempted the Lord, he quoted Scripture — he shall give his angels charge over thee [Psalm 91:11 KJV] — but twisted it to push presumption. Jesus answered not with feeling or opinion, but with the Word rightly used: It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God [Matthew 4:7 KJV]. Scripture is its own best interpreter — line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little [Isaiah 28:10 KJV].
So how do we guard ourselves? First, lean on the Helper who was given to teach us — the Holy Spirit, who leads the believer into all truth. Second, read the whole passage, not the convenient slice — ask who is speaking, to whom, and what the verses either side are saying. Third, compare Scripture with Scripture, and let the plain, clear verses shed light on the harder ones. And fourth, come humbly, ready to be corrected by the Word rather than bending the Word to fit yourself.
This is not merely a matter for scholars. It is the difference between building on rock and building on sand — whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them [Matthew 7:24 KJV]. Handle the Word carelessly and you will build your life on a misunderstanding. Handle it rightly, and you will know the truth that sets you free — and through it, know God Himself more deeply…

Truth sets you free — but only truth. Error rarely looks dangerous; it comes polished, warm and quotable, dressing the world up as the Word, and it leaves people comfortable and captive rather than free. False teaching feeds the soul while the spirit starves — and when the blind follow the blind, both fall, for each of us answers for what we believed. Real freedom comes from continuing in Christ's Word: search the Scriptures for yourself, test everything by the Word and not by how it made you feel, come out from what is false whatever it costs, and be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. Something new is landing in Round-up Sunday from this week, and it's the heartbeat of everything we do here.
We're adding a weekly section called Mission — one clear, doable step to take the truth off the page and into your world. No vague resolutions. No "I really should…" Just one obedient step, small enough to actually do, before next Sunday comes round.
Why? Because this ministry has never been about stacking up more head-knowledge. It's about becoming doers — But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves [James 1:22 KJV]. It's easy to read a good teaching, nod along, feel stirred, and then carry on exactly as before. The Mission is here to close that gap between hearing and doing.
Each week you'll get a step, a verse with feet on it, and a simple question to walk it out. Some weeks it'll be a witness — the Word out loud. Some weeks a work of service — the Walk in action. Some weeks a stand — the War fought faithfully. The Word, the Walk, and the War, worked out one week at a time.
And here's the part that matters most: tell us how you get on. Reply, message, or share it. When one of us steps out in obedience, it stirs the rest of us to do the same. And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works [Hebrews 10:24 KJV].

🎯 This Week's Mission: Test It by the Word — Then Do It…
Every week the Word gives us something to carry — not just to know, but to do. Here's your one step for the week ahead…
👣 Your step: Pick one teaching you have taken on board — a sermon, a video, a quote, a saying you have never questioned — and put it to the test this week. Open your Bible, read the verses in their setting, and see whether it is truly written. Keep what stands; drop what does not, however comfortable it has been. Then take one step of obedience out of what you found — a word said, a service given, a habit stopped — and do it before next Sunday, even if it costs you something.
❓ Walk it out: Do I hold this because it is written, or because it sounded good and warmed me up? What is the one thing the Word is telling me to do about it — and when this week will I do it?

False Doctrine = False Practices = False Church!
When truth is compromised, the church loses its power — guard doctrine, preserve practice, honour Christ…
It rarely begins with a bang. False teaching almost never arrives waving a flag. It slips in quietly — a small compromise here to make the message more "palatable," a hard truth softened there so nobody feels uncomfortable — and before long the whole shape of the faith has shifted. But make no mistake: what a church believes will always work its way out into what a church does. Wrong doctrine breeds wrong practice, and wrong practice, left unchecked, produces a false church.
Paul saw the danger and pressed it on Timothy: Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee [1 Timothy 4:16 KJV]. Doctrine is not a dry side-issue for scholars. It is the foundation everything else stands on. Get it wrong, and the house will fall — and great was the fall of it [Matthew 7:27 KJV].
Why does error spread so easily? Because it seldom looks like error. It comes dressed as insight, as progress, as a fresh take on an old text. Paul warned that Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light [2 Corinthians 11:14 KJV] — so we should not be surprised when falsehood turns up smiling, quotable and warm. And what we believe never stays in the head. What we believe about God shapes how we worship Him. What we believe about sin shapes how we live. What we believe about salvation decides whether we point people to the cross or to themselves. As Jesus said, A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit [Matthew 7:18 KJV].
Follow the trail far enough and you reach a church that carries Christ's name but has lost His power — having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away [2 Timothy 3:5 KJV]. It may be busy, full and admired, yet be exactly what Laodicea was told it was: wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked [Revelation 3:17 KJV], while thinking itself rich. Comfort without conviction. Activity without transformation. A crowd without the Christ.
So how do we stand? Be like the Bereans, who searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so [Acts 17:11 KJV] — you cannot spot the counterfeit if you do not know the real thing. Test every teaching: believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God [1 John 4:1 KJV]. No preacher, however gifted, sits above the Word. And stay humble — let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall [1 Corinthians 10:12 KJV].
The equation is simple and sobering, but it runs both ways. False doctrine leads to false practice and a false church; sound doctrine leads to godly living and a true one. So guard the truth, hold it fast, and build on the only foundation that will ever hold — for other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ [1 Corinthians 3:11 KJV]…
