Week 34

Your Weekly Round-up Sunday!
Dear friends in Christ,
In this week's Round-up Sunday, we're tackling one of the most pressing challenges for modern believers: navigating our faith in an increasingly digital world. How do we maintain authentic Christianity amidst the constant barrage of information, misinformation, and digital distractions?
From Monday's eye-opening warning about how our online Christian habits might actually be undermining our faith, to Thursday's crucial teaching on finding solid ground in a sea of untruth, we're exploring how to apply timeless biblical wisdom to our modern digital context.
The Apostle Paul adapted his message for the Areopagus without compromising truth—and we're called to similar faithfulness in today's digital spaces. As we celebrate reaching 600 videos on YouTube and 600 blog posts on our website, we're more committed than ever to helping you build a faith firmly grounded in Scripture while navigating the complexities of modern life.
Whether you're joining us in person at The Outpost, following along on YouTube, or reading our blog posts, we pray these teachings will strengthen your discernment, deepen your faith, and equip you to stand firm on the solid rock of God's unchanging truth in our ever-changing digital landscape.
With faith and hope,
Dave & Elaine
Building Your Faith on Biblical Foundations! Discover core Christian principles and deepen your relationship with Christ through biblical teaching and practical application…
Do You Want to Know the Truth?
In a world awash with misinformation and half-truths, the question "Do you want to know the truth?" becomes increasingly vital for believers. As Christians, we understand that truth isn't merely an abstract concept—it's embodied in the person of Jesus Christ, who declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6 KJV).
Many of us have grown comfortable with versions of truth that suit our preferences, creating a patchwork faith that feels good but lacks solid foundation. We select beliefs that don't challenge us, crafting a Christianity that conforms to our desires rather than transforming us according to God's will. The challenging question becomes: do we genuinely want to know the truth, even when it confronts our comfortable assumptions?
Genuine truth often challenges us, pushing against our preconceptions and calling us to difficult paths of obedience. Christ promised, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32 KJV). Notice He doesn't promise comfort—He promises freedom. This freedom requires humility to admit when we're wrong, courage to follow difficult paths, and willingness to change when our beliefs don't align with God's revealed truth.
How then do we pursue truth in our Christian walk?
First, we must prioritise Scripture. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works" (2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV). The Bible isn't merely one truth source among many—it's God's authoritative Word.
Second, we need the right heart posture. "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV). We must approach Scripture with humility, seeking God's message rather than confirmation of our preconceptions.
Third, we need community. "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend" (Proverbs 27:17 KJV). No one has perfect understanding; we need fellow believers to help us see our blind spots.
Fourth, we need the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus called "the Spirit of truth" (John 16:13 KJV). Without His illumination, Scripture remains merely words on a page.
Critically, knowledge of truth isn't an end in itself. "And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing" (1 Corinthians 13:2 KJV). Truth should lead to transformation, making us more loving and Christlike.
The real question isn't just whether you want to know the truth, but whether you're willing to let truth know you—to have your motives exposed, assumptions challenged, and life redirected. This isn't comfortable, but it's good, because God's truth doesn't just inform us; it transforms us.
In a culture that views truth as relative, Christians must stand firm on the reality that truth is absolute because it's grounded in God's unchanging character. Our commitment to truth becomes not just personal discipline but powerful witness in a world desperate for authentic answers…

WARNING: Your Online Christian Life Might Be DESTROYING Your Faith!
The Digital Faith Dilemma: Finding Balance in Modern Christian Living!

Navigating Faith in a Digital World!
In today's digital age, Christians face a profound challenge: maintaining authentic faith while navigating the overwhelming sea of online spiritual content. Our latest teaching, "WARNING: Your Online Christian Life Might Be DESTROYING Your Faith!", addresses this critical balance. While digital platforms offer unprecedented access to sermons, teachings and community, they can inadvertently create echo chambers that merely reinforce what we prefer to hear rather than challenging us with the whole counsel of God.
We explore how technology itself isn't the enemy—rather, it's how we use these tools that determines their impact on our spiritual growth. The teaching examines the biblical principles needed to navigate this digital faith dilemma, drawing wisdom from 2 Timothy, Hebrews, and James to help believers cultivate discernment.
This timely message reminds us that while consuming spiritual content is valuable, true transformation requires more than passive hearing—it demands active doing. We must balance our digital engagement with direct Bible study and face-to-face fellowship. Join us as we discover how to maintain a vibrant, authentic faith in an increasingly digital world…

Should We Be Using Digital Media to Share the Gospel?
Sharing the Unchanging Gospel Through Ever-Changing Media!

Navigating Today's Digital Areopagus!
Digital media is not just a modern convenience—it's our contemporary Areopagus, a vital space where the Gospel must be proclaimed. Just as Paul adapted his approach while preserving his message, we're called to engage wisely in digital spaces where billions gather daily. Scripture commands us to "go into all the world," and today's world is increasingly digital. By maintaining message integrity whilst embracing new methods, we fulfil the Great Commission in unprecedented ways. Our digital presence allows us to counter false teachings and shine Christ's light in potentially dark corners of the internet. Through strategic, thoughtful engagement online, we participate in fulfilling Christ's prophecy that "this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world." The tools may change, but the timeless message of salvation remains the same…

We are Swimming in a Sea of Untruth!
Finding Solid Ground in a World of Deception!

Anchoring Faith in a Digital Age of Misinformation!
In a world awash with misinformation, "We are Swimming in a Sea of Untruth" offers vital guidance for Christians seeking solid ground. This timely teaching explores how Scripture warned of our current era where truth is "fallen in the street" (Isaiah 59:14 KJV) and people turn to comfortable falsehoods. Drawing from biblical wisdom, it provides practical strategies for discernment: anchoring in God's Word like the Bereans, relying on the Holy Spirit's guidance, developing robust critical thinking, and embracing accountability within Christian community. Rather than succumbing to fear or cynicism, believers are encouraged to become lighthouses—not just discerning truth for themselves, but guiding others toward the unchanging truth found in Christ, who declared "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6 KJV).

CORRUPTING SCRIPTURE OR CLARIFYING IT?
In our pursuit of biblical understanding, we must remain vigilant about how modern translations might alter Scripture's intended meaning. The differences between contemporary versions and the authoritative King James Version can significantly impact our understanding of God's Word.
Consider Colossians 1:9-10 in the King James Version: "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God" (Colossians 1:9-10 KJV).
This passage reveals that knowledge isn't the end goal but rather the catalyst for godly living. Paul's prayer wasn't merely that believers would accumulate biblical facts, but that knowledge would transform their walk with Christ.
Modern renderings often subtly shift this emphasis, suggesting knowledge itself is primary while action becomes secondary. Yet Scripture consistently teaches that genuine understanding produces transformation. As James declares, "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves" (James 1:22 KJV).
Our Lord Himself emphasised this principle: "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock" (Matthew 7:24 KJV). The wise person isn't merely one who accumulates knowledge but one who applies it.
While contemporary translations offer accessibility—a worthy goal—we must ask whether readability sometimes comes at the cost of accuracy. The challenge isn't about exclusively using one translation but developing discernment by comparing multiple versions, especially those like the KJV that prioritise literal renderings.
Consider how this affects our understanding of faith itself. Is Christianity primarily about intellectual assent or transformed living? The biblical answer is clear: "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone" (James 2:17 KJV).
When studying Scripture, we should approach it with reverence and care, remembering Paul's instruction to "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV).
The goal of Bible study isn't merely increased knowledge but becoming "transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2 KJV). Knowledge should lead us to walk worthy of the Lord, please Him in everything, bear fruit in every good work, and deepen our relationship with Him.
Let us be discerning about the translations we use, comparing different versions while seeking the Holy Spirit's guidance. And most importantly, let us remember that God's Word is not just to be read and understood, but to be lived in faithful obedience…
With Christ's love,
Dave & Elaine
