Your Weekly Round-up Sunday!

Welcome to our Weekly Round-up Sunday for Week 40! As we move into autumn and the changing seasons, our spiritual journey continues with fresh insights and powerful teachings designed to strengthen your faith and deepen your walk with Christ.

Tuesday brings "The Numbers Game!" where we'll question whether statistical success truly reflects Kingdom values. Wednesday challenges us with "The Deluded Gospel!" as we consider whether many people claiming salvation are truly regenerate.

Our Thursday teaching tackles the bold statement that "The Church has got to Change!" - not through trendy programmes but by reclaiming our biblical purpose and mission. Friday launches an exciting new series on "The Unseen Battle: A Guide to Spiritual Warfare!" - equipping you to stand firm in a world of spiritual conflict.

Throughout the week, our YouTube channel will feature daily Morning Insights & Prayer segments, Outpost shorts, and continue our popular playlist series including Back to Basics: Christian Living, Let's Read the Word Together, What's on my Heart?, Under the Tree, and our upcoming animated children's content.

We're also reflecting this week on Christian responses to tragedy, and sharing practical guidance on how anyone - regardless of experience or theological training - can effectively teach God's Word in their everyday lives.

Join us for this spiritually nourishing week as we return to the solid foundations of biblical Christianity in a world of shifting sands. Whether you're a seasoned believer or just beginning your faith journey, there's wisdom and encouragement here for you!

Where Do All My Teachings Come From?

The wellspring of genuine Christian teaching flows not merely from academic study, but from the living waters of divine revelation coupled with life experience. As I've journeyed through decades of walking with the Lord, I've come to understand that authentic teaching emerges from three profound sources.

First and foremost, my teachings stem from the indwelling Holy Spirit. Scripture reminds us: "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth" (John 16:13, KJV). This divine guidance isn't merely intellectual understanding but spiritual revelation that illuminates God's Word in ways beyond human comprehension. The apostle Paul affirmed this truth writing, "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God" (1 Corinthians 2:12, KJV).

The second wellspring is God's infallible Word. Every teaching must be firmly anchored in scripture, for "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16, KJV). The Bible remains the unwavering foundation, the measuring rod against which all teachings must be evaluated. As the Psalmist declared, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105, KJV).

Thirdly, and often overlooked, is the treasury of life experience accumulated over years of applying biblical principles. Those of us of a certain age possess not just accumulated knowledge but the wisdom born from putting that knowledge into practice through life's varied seasons. Solomon observed that "The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness" (Proverbs 16:31, KJV). This experiential dimension brings credibility to our teaching, for we speak not of theories but of proven realities.

When these three elements converge – the Spirit's revelation, the Word's illumination, and experience's confirmation – we discover an inexhaustible reservoir from which to draw. The apostle Peter encouraged: "If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God" (1 Peter 4:11, KJV). This is precisely why mature believers should teach endlessly – not from pride of knowledge, but from the overflow of a life transformed by truth applied.

Our years of walking with the Lord equip us to minister with depth and discernment. James wrote, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" (James 1:5, KJV). This God-given wisdom, refined through years of obedience and sometimes failure, becomes the bedrock of meaningful teaching.

This threefold foundation ensures that our teaching remains fresh, relevant, and powerfully transformative. As Paul instructed Timothy, "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also" (2 Timothy 2:2, KJV).

My commitment remains to teach from this wellspring – Spirit-led revelation, biblically grounded truth, and experientially validated wisdom – trusting that "He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6, KJV).

Is the Modern Church Now Just a Free-For-All?

If we surrender scriptural authority, the church becomes a spiritual free-for-all where personal preference trumps biblical truth…

Confronting Compromise in the Contemporary Church

Many churches today have drifted from biblical foundations by elevating personal experiences over Scripture, allowing feelings to replace God's Word as the authority. The concept of love has become disconnected from truth, mistaking unconditional affirmation for genuine care. Worship has abandoned biblical order for unbounded spontaneity, whilst grace is misunderstood as freedom from God's standards rather than power to fulfil them.

Scripture provides the remedy by calling us back to God's Word as our ultimate authority. In this framework, grace empowers heartfelt obedience rather than abolishing standards. True worship edifies through orderly expression of gifts. Genuine care includes loving correction, not mere affirmation. Biblical discernment protects against false teaching, ensuring the church remains "the pillar and ground of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15 KJV) rather than a spiritual free-for-all...

The Numbers Game!

Is your church playing the numbers game? The pursuit of statistical success may be costing you more than you realise!

The Allure of Numbers in Modern Ministry

Many churches are tempted to measure success by attendance, budgets, and reputation. Scripture redirects us to what God actually values: the heart, faithfulness, spiritual fruit, love, and holiness. From Gideon’s 300 to Jesus’ hard sayings, the Bible consistently prioritises quality over quantity. The “numbers game” often breeds diluted truth, shallow discipleship, pride, and false conversions. Healthy growth comes when the Lord adds as we keep prayer, sound doctrine, and disciple‑making central. Real success is transformed lives, not bigger statistics…

The Deluded Gospel!

Are People Truly Saved?

The Dangers of a Compromised Message

Many today are offered a softened message that removes the offence of the cross and the call to repentance. Scripture warns of a time when people will reject sound doctrine and prefer soothing fables. The biblical gospel begins with the reality of sin and the holiness of God, leads to repentance and faith in Christ’s atoning work, and results in a changed life. True conversion shows itself by new desires, obedience to God’s commands, love for believers, endurance in the faith, and fruitful holiness. The church’s task is not to entertain but to proclaim the truth that saves, calling people to enter the strait gate and walk the narrow way…

The Church has got to Change!

Reclaiming our purpose: From institution to movement, from attendance to discipleship…

A Biblical Mandate for Change

The Church does not need trendier programmes; it needs a return to biblical purpose. Scripture calls leaders to equip believers, believers to live in real community, and churches to engage the world without losing holiness. When we move from attendance to discipleship and from comfort to mission, the Church becomes a Spirit‑led movement again, not an institution to be maintained. The message is timeless; our obedience must be timely…

The Unseen Battle: A Guide to Spiritual Warfare!

In the realm of Christian living, we often encounter challenges that go beyond the physical world. These set of teachings over the next few weeks aim to explore the concept of spiritual warfare and equip believers with the knowledge and tools to stand firm in their faith…

Introduction: The Unseen Battle!

Spiritual warfare is the biblical reality behind many of life’s pressures and temptations. Scripture calls believers to a balanced posture: submit to God, resist the devil, and stand firm in Christ’s finished victory. The chief battleground is the mind, where lies and accusations are pulled down by the truth of God’s Word. Prayer and the whole armour of God are not optional extras but daily essentials for steady, joyful, gospel‑advancing living. In Christ, we do not fight for victory but from victory, advancing His kingdom with confidence and humility…

Tragedy, Truth & Christian Testimony: Reflections on Recent Events!

It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the tragic events surrounding Charlie Kirk's assassination. This shocking development in America highlights the increasingly dangerous polarisation in society, particularly for those with outspoken faith or conservative values.

What is perhaps equally concerning is the response we've witnessed from some quarters of the Christian community. Rather than focusing on genuine prayer and compassion for Kirk's bereaved family and friends, certain individuals have seized upon this tragedy as an opportunity to increase their social media presence, generate clicks, or boost subscriber counts.

Scripture reminds us: "Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep" (Romans 12:15, KJV). In times of mourning, our Christian witness should reflect Christ's compassion, not opportunistic self-promotion.

As followers of Christ, our response to tragedy should always be characterised by sincere prayer, respectful silence when appropriate, and thoughtful reflection—not hasty content creation designed to capitalise on trending topics. We are called to be ministers of comfort, not merchants of controversy.

Let us commit to praying earnestly for all those affected by this tragedy, while examining our own motivations when engaging with difficult current events. May our testimony reflect Christ's character rather than conforming to the world's patterns of sensationalism and self-promotion…

Back to Basics: Christian Living - Your Faith Journey. We're excited to share insights and practical guidance to help strengthen your faith journey in 2025…

Sharing Your Faith: How Anyone Can Teach God's Word!

Many believers shy away from teaching, feeling inadequate or unqualified. Yet Scripture reveals that sharing biblical wisdom isn't reserved for professional ministers or theological scholars. God equips all His children to share His truth in their unique way.

The apostle Peter, once an unschooled fisherman, reminds us: "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear" (1 Peter 3:15, KJV). This readiness to explain our faith is a form of teaching that every believer can embrace.

Consider these practical approaches to sharing God's Word, even if you don't see yourself as a teacher:

1. Share Your Testimony

Your personal experiences with God are powerful teaching tools. The blind man healed by Jesus simply declared, "One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see" (John 9:25, KJV). Your authentic journey with Christ—including struggles and victories—can illuminate Scripture's truths for others.

2. Start Small & Specific

Begin with what you know well. Paul advised Timothy to "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV). Focus on a particular passage or topic that has transformed your understanding, then share those insights in conversations, social media posts, or small group discussions.

3. Use Everyday Opportunities

Jesus taught using ordinary examples—salt, light, seeds, and bread. Similarly, you can connect Scripture to daily life. When facing challenges at work, share how "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Philippians 4:13, KJV) has sustained you. These relatable applications make God's Word accessible to others.

4. Embrace Technology

Today's digital platforms offer unprecedented ways to share biblical insights. Whether through thoughtful social media posts, blog reflections, or sharing quality content, you can participate in the Great Commission to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations" (Matthew 28:19, KJV) without leaving your home.

5. Let Scripture Speak

When uncertain about your own words, remember that God's Word is "quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword" (Hebrews 4:12, KJV). Sometimes simply reading Scripture aloud, perhaps with brief context, allows the Holy Spirit to teach through the text itself.

6. Be a Facilitator

Consider hosting a Bible reading group where participants explore Scripture together. As Proverbs tells us, "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend" (Proverbs 27:17, KJV). You don't need all the answers—just a willingness to create space for collective learning.

7. Pray for Wisdom

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" (James 1:5, KJV). Divine wisdom transforms ordinary believers into effective teachers of God's truth.

Remember, teaching God's Word isn't about eloquence or academic credentials, but faithfulness to share what He has revealed to you. As you step out in obedience, trusting the Holy Spirit's guidance, you'll discover that God can use anyone—including you—to teach others His life-changing truth…

With Christ's love,

Dave & Elaine
