Week 44

Week 44

Your Weekly Round-up Sunday!

Welcome to Week 44 of our Round-up Sunday series! As we approach the end of October, we're excited to bring you another week packed with powerful biblical teaching, practical wisdom, and spiritual encouragement. This week's content is carefully designed to strengthen your faith foundation and equip you for victorious Christian living in an increasingly challenging world.

We're kicking off with a compelling exploration of Walking by Faith, examining what it truly means to trust God when you cannot see the way ahead. Drawing from the examples of Abraham, Noah, and other biblical heroes, this foundational teaching will challenge you to embrace a faith that doesn't require all the answers before taking the first step.

Throughout the week, you'll discover:

  • Monday: The unchanging certainty of the Gospel—as absolute as mathematical truth—and why diluting God's Word undermines its transformative power
  • Tuesday: How Scripture memorisation and meditation anchor your soul amidst competing worldviews and information overload
  • Wednesday: Understanding God's step-by-step guidance through His Word, learning to follow His light one step at a time rather than demanding the entire roadmap
  • Thursday: The practical, liberating wisdom of God's Word for everyday challenges—from finances to relationships to major life decisions
  • Friday: Standing firm in the unseen spiritual battle, equipped with faith as your shield and God's armour for every assault

Plus, don't miss our engaging YouTube content throughout the week, including our daily "Morning" devotionals, thought-provoking reflections, "Messages from the Outpost" teachings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and our "Write This Down" and "Back to Basics" series. Perfect for deepening your faith whilst on the go!

This week's content is designed to equip you with unchanging biblical truth that transforms not just what you believe, but how you live. Join us as we return to the foundations—building your faith on the solid rock of God's Word!

Walking by Faith: Trusting God When You Cannot See the Way…

In our modern world of instant information and constant connectivity, we've become accustomed to having answers at our fingertips. We want to see the full picture before we commit, to understand every detail before we proceed. Yet the Christian life calls us to something profoundly counter-cultural: walking by faith, not by sight.

The apostle Paul wrote, "For we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV). This simple yet profound statement encapsulates the essence of the Christian journey. Faith isn't about having all the answers or seeing the complete path ahead—it's about trusting the One who holds our future in His hands.

Throughout Scripture, we encounter ordinary people who made extraordinary choices to trust God without seeing the full picture. Abraham exemplified this when "he went out, not knowing whither he went" (Hebrews 11:8 KJV). God called him to leave his homeland and journey to an unknown destination, armed only with divine promise. Abraham's obedience wasn't based on comprehensive knowledge or a detailed map—it was rooted in unwavering trust in God's faithfulness.

Similarly, Noah demonstrated remarkable faith when God commanded him to build an ark. "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house" (Hebrews 11:7 KJV). Noah had never witnessed rain, yet he trusted God's word completely, investing years of labour based solely on divine revelation.

The writer of Hebrews defines faith beautifully: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1 KJV). Faith gives substance to our hopes and provides evidence for realities we cannot yet perceive with our natural senses. It's the assurance that God's promises are trustworthy, even when circumstances suggest otherwise.

Jesus Himself emphasised the paramount importance of faith, declaring, "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you" (Matthew 17:20 KJV). Even small, genuine faith possesses tremendous power when placed in our Almighty God.

Walking by faith requires daily surrender of our need for control. It means bringing our anxieties to God, for "the just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:17 KJV). When we face impossible situations, when medical reports are discouraging, when finances are tight, or when relationships are strained—these are precisely the moments when faith becomes our lifeline.

The Psalmist encourages us: "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV). This isn't passive resignation but active trust—choosing to rely on God's infinite wisdom rather than our limited perspective.

Scripture repeatedly assures us that "without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6 KJV). Faith isn't optional for the Christian—it's essential, the very foundation of our relationship with God.

Today, whatever impossibility you're facing, remember that "all things are possible to him that believeth" (Mark 9:23 KJV). God hasn't changed. His power remains unlimited, His love unfailing, His promises certain. Choose to walk by faith, not by sight, and watch Him work miracles in your life…

The Immutable Truth of the Gospel!

As Certain as 2+2=4!

The Unyielding Certainty of God's Word!

In a world where truth is increasingly seen as relative and subjective, the Gospel stands as an unchangeable reality—as certain as the mathematical fact that 2+2=4. Just as no one can alter basic mathematical principles without compromising their integrity, we cannot modify the Gospel to suit our preferences without undermining its power to transform lives. Scripture repeatedly warns against adding to or subtracting from God's Word, emphasising that only pure, unaltered truth has the power to set us free. Yet knowing this truth isn't enough—we must be doers of the Word, not merely hearers, allowing it to transform our daily lives. By anchoring ourselves to the unchanging Gospel in an increasingly relativistic world, we discover remarkable freedom and assurance, knowing that Jesus Christ remains "the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." This article explores why the immutability of Gospel truth matters and how we can faithfully walk it out in practical, life-changing ways…

God's Word as Our Anchor: Memorisation & Meditation

Scriptural Anchors: Securing Our Minds in God's Truth!

Anchoring Your Soul in an Age of Competing Worldviews

In today's world of information overload and conflicting ideologies, Christians face the challenge of maintaining spiritual clarity amidst competing worldviews. The ancient practices of Scripture memorisation and meditation provide the solution, serving as anchors that secure our minds in God's unchanging truth. Throughout Scripture, from the Psalms to Jesus' own example during His wilderness temptation, we see the command to internalise God's Word—not merely as intellectual knowledge, but as treasure hidden in the heart that shapes our affections and actions. Biblical meditation differs fundamentally from Eastern mysticism by filling rather than emptying the mind, allowing us to reflect deeply on God's truth until it transforms our thinking patterns. These disciplines equip believers for spiritual warfare, renew the mind against worldly conformity, and provide comfort and guidance in difficult times. By committing to memorise Scripture systematically and meditate upon it daily, believers discover the peace and stability that comes from being firmly rooted in objective, eternal truth, resulting in spiritual discernment, obedience, and Christlikeness that withstands cultural shifts and personal trials…

Follow God's Light One Step at a Time!

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105 KJV).

Walking in Faith, Not Sight

In our fast-paced world, we often crave complete clarity before taking action. We want to see the entire path laid out before us, with every turn and destination clearly marked. Yet God rarely works this way. Instead, His Word promises to be "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" – providing just enough illumination for the next step, not the entire journey. This divine principle of step-by-step guidance isn't a limitation but rather a beautiful demonstration of God's wisdom and mercy. When we demand to see everything at once, we're actually revealing a lack of trust in His faithful leading. Consider Abraham, who ventured forth "not knowing whither he went," armed only with God's promise and the light for his immediate step. This incremental guidance keeps us dependent on our Heavenly Father, protects us from being overwhelmed by future challenges, and develops our character through each small act of obedience. Waiting for God's direction requires patience and active trust, positioning ourselves to receive His wisdom in His perfect timing. By immersing ourselves in Scripture, maintaining prayerful communion, obeying the light we've already received, and seeking godly counsel, we learn to walk confidently even when we cannot see what lies ahead. God hasn't left us to stumble in darkness – He's promised to instruct, teach, and personally guide us, delighting in our journey with Him. We don't need to see the entire staircase to take the first step, for His Word is our lamp, His presence our assurance, and His faithfulness our guarantee that when tomorrow comes, His light will illuminate exactly what we need to see…

The Unseen Battle: Standing Firm in Faith!

In a world of spiritual warfare, discover how unwavering faith becomes your most powerful weapon against unseen forces…

Understanding the Importance of Faith

In the midst of life's challenges and spiritual battles, standing firm in faith is not merely a suggestion but a vital necessity for every believer. Faith serves as the foundation of our relationship with God—it is impossible to please Him without it, and through faith alone we receive the gift of salvation by His grace. Yet faith is not static; it must be actively cultivated through immersing ourselves in Scripture, maintaining a vibrant prayer life, and engaging in fellowship with other believers who sharpen and encourage us on our journey.

In the unseen spiritual warfare that surrounds us, faith functions as our shield, protecting us against the enemy's fiery attacks of accusation, temptation, and discouragement. Combined with the other pieces of God's armour—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, salvation, and the Word of God—faith equips us to withstand every assault and remain standing when the battle is fierce.

Back to Basics: Christian Living - Your Faith Journey. We're excited to share insights and practical guidance to help strengthen your faith journey in 2025…

Active Faith: Moving Beyond Belief into Action!

Faith is the cornerstone of the Christian life, but it was never meant to remain dormant within our hearts. True biblical faith is active, dynamic, and transformative—it compels us to move, to serve, and to live out the truths we profess to believe. As James so powerfully declares, "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone" (James 2:17 KJV). Our faith must be visible in our daily lives, demonstrated through our actions and choices.

The Bible consistently presents faith as something that produces tangible results. When we look at the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11, we see people who didn't merely believe in God—they acted upon that belief. Noah built an ark, Abraham left his homeland, Moses confronted Pharaoh, and countless others stepped out in obedience despite uncertainty. "By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went" (Hebrews 11:8 KJV). Their faith moved them to action.

Jesus Himself emphasised the importance of active faith throughout His ministry. He didn't call His disciples to passive observation but to active participation in God's Kingdom work. "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men" (Matthew 4:19 KJV) was an invitation to movement, transformation, and service. Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus healing, teaching, feeding, and serving—and He called His followers to do likewise. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do" (John 14:12 KJV).

Active faith reveals itself in practical love towards others. The apostle John writes, "But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth" (1 John 3:17-18 KJV). When we encounter someone in need, our faith should move us beyond mere sympathy to tangible assistance. Prayer is essential, but it should often be accompanied by practical action.

Furthermore, active faith requires courage to speak truth in love. Paul exhorts us to be "speaking the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15 KJV), which means our faith must sometimes prompt us to have difficult conversations, to stand for righteousness, and to share the gospel even when it's uncomfortable. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV).

Active faith also means persistent obedience in the small, everyday choices that shape our character. "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men" (Colossians 3:23 KJV). Whether we're at work, at home, or in our communities, our faith should influence every decision and action.

The question we must each ask ourselves is this: Is my faith merely intellectual assent, or is it a living, breathing force that drives me to action? God has called us to be "doers of the word, and not hearers only" (James 1:22 KJV). Let us therefore embrace active faith—faith that serves, loves, gives, speaks truth, and courageously steps out in obedience to God's calling. This is the faith that transforms lives, builds God's Kingdom, and brings glory to His name…

With Christ's love,

Dave & Elaine
