Week 48
Your Weekly Round-up Sunday!
Welcome to Week 48's Round-up Sunday—your weekly gathering of faith-building content designed to equip you for a supernatural walk with Christ! This week, we're addressing one of the most critical challenges facing believers today: overcoming fear to step into the fullness of God's power. From understanding the danger of counterfeit spiritual gifts to discovering how salvation and sanctification work together, each piece of content has been carefully crafted to move you from spiritual infancy into mature, active faith.
As we explore the cross as our foundation rather than our dwelling place, you'll be challenged to build upon your salvation and move forward into your divine calling. We'll examine how spiritual strongholds keep believers bound and how to demolish them through God's supernatural power. Throughout the week, our YouTube content, podcasts, and teachings will reinforce this central truth: God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
This week's content includes powerful teachings on genuine spiritual gifts versus soul-based counterfeits, the transformative doctrine of salvation by grace through faith, and practical guidance on operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit within the Church. Whether you're watching our daily YouTube videos, listening to our new Unscripted podcast, or joining us at the Outpost for live teaching, every resource points you towards the same destination: a bold, supernatural Christian life that demonstrates God's power and advances His kingdom.
Don't let fear keep you in the safety of familiar territory when God is calling you into the miraculous. This week, choose faith over fear, action over hesitation, and supernatural power over natural limitation. Let's walk together in the Spirit, operating in the gifts He's freely given, and fulfilling the purpose for which we've been called. Your breakthrough begins now!

The Danger of Counterfeiting Spiritual Gifts Through the Soul Life
In today's modern church, a troubling trend has emerged: believers attempting to replicate genuine spiritual gifts through their natural soul life rather than operating in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit. This counterfeiting of spiritual manifestations represents one of the most dangerous deceptions facing contemporary Christianity, leading believers away from authentic spiritual walk and into mere religious performance.
The pathway to genuine spiritual power is clearly established in Scripture. Romans 10:9 (KJV) declares, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." This confession and belief opens the door to receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, which operates through nine distinct manifestations and produces nine fruits in the believer's life. These are not human achievements but divine enablement's.
The nine manifestations of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 (KJV) include word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers kinds of tongues, and interpretation of tongues. These supernatural operations flow through the believer by Spirit as he the believer wills, not through human effort or emotional manipulation. Yet many modern Christians, lacking understanding of how to walk in genuine spiritual power, attempt to manufacture similar results through their soul—their mind, will, and emotions.
This counterfeit spirituality manifests in various ways: manufactured emotional experiences mistaken for the Spirit's moving, intellectually constructed "prophecies" based on personality reading rather than divine revelation, or rehearsed "spiritual" language designed to sound anointed. Such practices may appear spiritual on the surface, but they operate entirely from human resources rather than divine power. As Jesus warned in Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV), "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
The root of this problem lies in a fundamental misunderstanding of how believers are meant to communicate with God. John 4:24 (KJV) states, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." Our connection with God flows through Jesus Christ via the Holy Spirit—this is the supernatural channel established at salvation. It cannot be replaced by human intellect, emotional fervour, or religious technique.
Walking by the supernatural requires faith and surrender to the Spirit's leading. Galatians 5:16 (KJV) commands, "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." This walk is not natural but supernatural, requiring believers to yield their understanding and allow the Spirit to operate through them. Romans 8:14 (KJV) confirms, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
The consequences of operating from the soul life whilst claiming spiritual authority are severe. Such practices grieve the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30 KJV), deceive both the practitioner and observers, and ultimately dishonour God by presenting human efforts as divine manifestations. Furthermore, they leave believers powerless against genuine spiritual opposition, as Acts 19:15 (KJV) illustrates when evil spirits dismissed those without authentic spiritual authority.
God desires His people to operate in genuine spiritual power, not religious performance. The early church demonstrated this supernatural walk, and it remains available today. However, it requires honest self-examination, repentance from soul-based counterfeits, and yielding completely to the Holy Spirit's leading. Only then can believers truly communicate with God through Jesus Christ via the Holy Spirit and walk in the supernatural power He has provided for His church…

Salvation by Grace Through Faith!
The fundamental teaching that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by works…

God's Greatest Gift!
Discover the transformative truth at the heart of Christianity: salvation by grace through faith. In a world where many believe they must earn their way to heaven through good deeds and religious observances, the Bible reveals a radically different message. God's grace is His unmerited favour towards sinners, demonstrated when Christ died for us whilst we were still spiritually dead in our sins. This salvation cannot be earned through human effort or achievement—it is entirely God's work, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
Faith is our response to God's gracious offer, a trust and reliance upon Christ that itself is a gift from God. This doesn't diminish the importance of good works; rather, it places them in their proper context as the fruit of salvation, not its root. Good works naturally flow from genuine saving faith, demonstrating the reality of our transformation. When we truly grasp this truth, it provides incredible security—our salvation rests not on our performance but on Christ's finished work on the cross.
Understanding salvation by grace through faith transforms how we live, producing gratitude instead of pride, joyful obedience rather than dutiful compliance, and confidence in God's love rather than uncertainty about our standing. This fundamental doctrine glorifies God by acknowledging that salvation is entirely His work, and it frees us to live in the joy and security of His amazing grace. Join us as we explore this life-changing truth that stands at the very foundation of the Christian faith…

The Cross & Salvation! Part One…
Moving Forward in God's Calling…

From Salvation to Service
In "The Cross & Salvation! Part One," we explore the vital truth that whilst the cross of Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith, it is meant to be our starting point rather than our stopping place. Salvation through Christ's sacrifice is the free gift of God's grace—nothing we could ever earn—yet too many believers remain perpetually focused on this initial experience, never moving forward into the fullness of their calling. Scripture calls us to build upon this foundation, pressing on to maturity and purpose. We live under the New Covenant, with direct access to God through Christ's blood, and we've been equipped with spiritual gifts and the Holy Spirit's power for meaningful service in God's kingdom. Each believer has been created in Christ Jesus for specific good works that God prepared beforehand. This teaching challenges us to honour Christ's sacrifice not merely through endless contemplation, but through active obedience—becoming doers of the Word who fulfil the Great Commission and walk in the calling God has placed upon our lives. Join us as we examine what it means to remember the cross with gratitude whilst pressing forward with purpose, moving from salvation to service in the advancement of God's kingdom…

Salvation & Sanctification!
Two Sides of God's Transforming Grace…

Two Aspects of God's Grace Working Together
Discover the profound connection between salvation and sanctification in this essential teaching on Christian doctrine. Salvation is the glorious moment when we are justified by faith through God's grace alone, as Christ's finished work on the cross secures our eternal redemption. Yet salvation is not the end of the story, but rather the beginning of a beautiful journey of transformation. Sanctification is the Holy Spirit's ongoing work in our lives, progressively conforming us to the image of Christ as we cooperate with His divine purpose. These two truths are inseparable threads woven throughout Scripture, revealing that genuine faith inevitably produces a changed life. Understanding both doctrines protects us from dangerous errors whilst giving us the complete gospel picture: we are eternally secure in Christ's love, yet called to pursue holiness out of gratitude for His amazing grace. Join us as we explore how these foundational truths work together to shape our identity as believers and our daily walk with God…

The Cross & Salvation! Part Two…
Be thankful for the cross—but don't stay there. Build upon it, move forward in faith, and fulfil the calling God has placed upon your life….

Be Thankful for the Cross, But Move Forward in Faith! & The Conclusion to Parts One & Two…
The Christian life begins at the cross but is never meant to end there. Whilst the sacrifice of Jesus Christ remains the eternal foundation of our faith and the source of our deepest gratitude, God's purpose for believers extends far beyond perpetual meditation on our initial salvation experience. The modern church has fallen into a pattern of seeking repeated emotional encounters rather than progressing into mature discipleship and active service, creating congregations of consumers rather than contributors to the Kingdom.
God's love, demonstrated perfectly at Calvary, is not sentimental emotion requiring constant validation—it is agape love, expressed through covenant commitment and faithful action. This same love now calls us forward into the fullness of our purpose in Christ. We honour the cross not by endlessly gazing upon it to the exclusion of obedience, but by building upon its foundation with transformed lives that bear fruit for God's glory.
Scripture is clear that we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which He has prepared beforehand for us to walk in. The writer of Hebrews urges us to leave the elementary principles and press on towards maturity, not laying again the foundation but building upon it. Like the Apostle Paul, who never forgot his dramatic conversion yet constantly pressed forward into his apostolic calling, we must move from spiritual infancy into maturity, from introspection into mission, from self-focus into selfless service.
The Great Commission remains unfulfilled whilst believers remain perpetually at the cross. The fields are white unto harvest whilst labourers remain in the safety of familiar emotional territory. The world is waiting for a church that not only celebrates its salvation but demonstrates it through powerful witness and sacrificial love. Every believer has been equipped with spiritual gifts for building God's kingdom—gifts that are not meant to remain dormant whilst we endlessly relive our salvation moment.
Be eternally grateful for what Christ accomplished at Calvary. Remember His sacrifice regularly through communion as He commanded. Never cease to marvel at the grace that rescued you from darkness. But then, empowered by the Holy Spirit and compelled by divine love, arise and step forward into the challenging, rewarding work of Kingdom service. The cross is your entrance, not your dwelling place. Salvation is your beginning, not your entirety. True appreciation for what Christ has done is demonstrated not merely through repeated emotional responses, but through obedient, purposeful lives that advance His kingdom and glorify His name…

Back to Basics: Christian Living - Your Faith Journey. We're excited to share insights and practical guidance to help strengthen your faith journey in 2025…
Stepping Out in Faith: Overcoming Fear to Operate in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit
The Christian walk is fundamentally a journey of faith—not a comfortable stroll through familiar territory, but a bold venture into the spiritual unknown. This is particularly true when it comes to operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit within the Church. The greatest barrier preventing believers from moving in these supernatural gifts isn't lack of knowledge or ability, but rather the paralysing grip of fear. Yet it is precisely this act of stepping out, of overcoming that fear, that serves as the stepping stone to experiencing the fullness of God's power in our lives and in the life of the Church.
Scripture makes it abundantly clear that "without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6 KJV). Faith, by its very nature, requires us to move beyond what we can see, touch, or rationally explain. When we operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit—whether prophecy, healing, words of knowledge, or any of the other manifestations—we are stepping into territory where natural ability ends and supernatural empowerment begins.
The Apostle Paul understood this reality intimately. He reminded Timothy, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV). Fear is not from God. When we feel that tightening in our chest, that voice whispering "What if I'm wrong? What if nothing happens? What if people think I'm foolish?"—we must recognise these as tactics of the enemy to keep us from stepping into our spiritual inheritance.
Walking by faith means choosing to trust God's Word over our feelings. "For we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV). When you feel prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray for someone's healing, to share a word of encouragement, or to operate in any spiritual gift, that moment of hesitation is your testing ground. Will you trust what God has promised, or will you retreat into the safety of silence?
The Church desperately needs believers who will move in faith with great believing. Paul exhorted the Corinthians to "covet earnestly the best gifts" (1 Corinthians 12:31 KJV) and to "desire spiritual gifts" (1 Corinthians 14:1 KJV). These aren't optional extras for super-spiritual Christians; they're part of the normal Christian life that God intends for every believer. Yet so many remain passive, waiting for a feeling of absolute certainty before they'll step out—a certainty that rarely comes because faith, by definition, involves uncertainty about outcomes whilst having certainty about God's character.
Consider Peter walking on water. The moment he took that first step out of the boat was the moment of greatest fear, yet also the moment of greatest faith. "And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus" (Matthew 14:29 KJV). Peter didn't wait until the water felt solid beneath his feet. He stepped out at Jesus' word, and the miracle followed his obedience.
The same principle applies to operating in spiritual gifts. You must step out before you see the results. You must open your mouth to prophesy before knowing what words will come. You must lay hands on the sick before seeing them healed. You must believe for the supernatural before experiencing it. This is the essence of faith in action.
When you overcome fear and step out in faith, your supernatural walk with God transforms from theoretical doctrine into tangible reality. You begin to experience what Paul described: "And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power" (1 Corinthians 2:4 KJV). The gifts of the Spirit aren't meant to be studied in the abstract; they're meant to be manifested in power.
The key to breakthrough is remembering that God's power isn't dependent on your perfection or your confidence level. His strength is "made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV). Your trembling hands and uncertain voice don't disqualify you—they actually position you to experience God's power more fully because you know it's not coming from your natural ability.
Start small if you must, but start. Begin in environments where you feel safe. Practice hearing God's voice. Step out in faith when He prompts you. Each time you overcome fear and act in obedience, your faith muscle grows stronger. Each time you see God move through you, your confidence in His faithfulness increases. "But without faith it is impossible to please him" (Hebrews 11:6 KJV)—and with faith, all things become possible.
The Church needs you to step out. The world needs you to step out. Fear will always whisper reasons to stay safe, but faith calls you into the unknown where miracles happen. Choose today to "be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might" (Ephesians 6:10 KJV). Move in faith with great believing, overcome that fear, and watch your supernatural walk with God become a glorious reality…
With Christ's love,
Dave & Elaine
