Building Your Faith on Biblical Foundations! Discover core Christian principles and deepen your relationship with Christ through biblical teaching and practical application…

Be Patient, Be Present, Be Deliberate

Facing Adversity with Christian Resilience…

The Christian life is not a path free from trials and tribulations. Rather, it is a journey marked by challenges that test our faith, refine our character, and draw us closer to God. When adversity strikes, our response reveals the depth of our relationship with Christ and the strength of our spiritual foundation. How, then, should we react to adversity in our walk as Christians?

Patience is a virtue that often emerges through the fires of affliction. The apostle Paul reminds us, "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope" (Romans 5:3-4, KJV). When we face difficulties, our natural inclination may be to seek immediate relief or resolution. However, God calls us to patience—to trust in His timing and His purposes, even when we cannot see the path ahead.

James echoes this sentiment: "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing" (James 1:2-4, KJV). Adversity is not merely something to endure but an opportunity for spiritual growth and maturation.

Being where your feet are means engaging fully with the present moment rather than being consumed by anxiety about the future or regret about the past. Jesus taught, "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof" (Matthew 6:34, KJV). Complacency—whether through distraction, denial, or disengagement—is indeed a killer of spiritual vitality.

When we are present, we are available to God's voice and sensitive to His leading. We can "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17, KJV) and maintain fellowship with Him throughout our daily struggles. Being present also means being authentic with ourselves and others about our struggles, following the exhortation to "confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed" (James 5:16, KJV).

Deliberateness implies intentionality and purposefulness in our Christian walk. Paul urges believers to "walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:15-16, KJV). In times of adversity, we must deliberately choose faith over fear, hope over despair, and love over bitterness.

This deliberateness extends to our spiritual disciplines. We must intentionally seek God through prayer, immerse ourselves in His Word, and surround ourselves with fellow believers who can support and encourage us. "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works" (Hebrews 10:23-24, KJV).

When adversity comes, remember that God has not abandoned you. "The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit" (Psalm 34:18, KJV). Be patient, be present, be deliberate—and watch as God transforms your trials into testimonies of His faithfulness…

From Study to Street: Living the Faith You've Learnt!

Transforming Biblical knowledge into everyday action…

Bridging the Gap Between Knowledge & Practice

Are you tired of accumulating biblical knowledge that never seems to make it past Sunday morning? "From Study to Street: Living the Faith You've Learnt" confronts the uncomfortable reality facing modern Christianity: we know more Scripture than ever before, yet our lives often remain unchanged. This powerful teaching explores the dangerous disconnect between what we know and how we live, revealing how we can become "ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." Drawing from James's warning that hearing without doing deceives ourselves, and Jesus's parable of the two builders, this message challenges believers to move beyond intellectual Christianity into genuine discipleship. Discover how to bridge the gap between Bible study and daily living through the power of the Holy Spirit, transforming yourself into a "living epistle" that the world can read. Learn why the early Church's faith wasn't confined to theological discussions but overflowed into radical generosity and sacrificial love. This isn't just another Bible study—it's a call to authentic Christianity that costs something, requires sacrifice, and transforms both you and the world around you. If you're ready to stop being a collector of biblical knowledge and start becoming a practitioner of biblical truth, this teaching will equip you to take the faith you've learnt from the pages of Scripture into every street, workplace, and relationship. The world doesn't need more Christians who simply know the Bible—it needs Christians who live it out with urgency, power, and genuine transformation…

Soldiers Don't Expect Comfort; They Expect Battle! (Part 1 & 2)

Are you enlisted as a soldier of Christ, or merely a comfortable observer? The battle is real—choose your position today…

The Call to Arms

In a world that prioritises comfort, Christ calls us to spiritual warfare. As soldiers of Jesus Christ, we embrace discipline, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment, expecting hardship as normal.

The Christian life is spiritual warfare against principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness. Our enemy is real and relentless, yet many believers act as casual observers rather than combatants. Opposition confirms we're on the right path; comfort often signals complacency.

God equips us with the full armour—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. Yet equipment alone isn't enough; we need training through trials that develop our spiritual strength.

The soldier's mindset requires obedience to our chain of command. When God's Word gives clear direction, we obey. This demands humility, surrender, and trust, holding everything loosely and knowing Christ is worth infinitely more than worldly comfort.

Yet we don't fight alone. Our strength comes from the Lord. Through prayer, we access divine resources and align with God's purposes. We fight with confidence in ultimate victory—Christ has already won at Calvary. The gates of hell shall not prevail. Put on your armour daily, pick up your weapons, and march forwards with courage. Soldiers don't expect comfort; they expect battle—and through Christ, they expect victory!

Have You Forgotten Your Sword!

Don't face life's battles unarmed—Scripture memory is the key to wielding your spiritual sword with power and precision…

Practical Steps to Begin Scripture Memory Today

In a world where spiritual battles rage unseen, many Christians enter the fight woefully unprepared, having forgotten their most powerful weapon—the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. This teaching challenges believers to rediscover the transformative discipline of Scripture memory, not as an optional spiritual exercise, but as essential warfare training. When Jesus faced Satan's temptations in the wilderness, He didn't rely on clever arguments or personal strength—He wielded Scripture with precision, defeating each attack with "It is written." Yet today's church has largely abandoned this practice, leaving believers defenceless against an enemy who knows the Bible better than they do. The psalmist understood this truth when he declared that hiding God's Word in his heart prevented sin, whilst Paul identified Scripture as our offensive weapon in spiritual warfare. This isn't about impressive memory skills or legalistic duty—it's about equipping yourself for the daily battles you face. When temptation strikes, when doubts assail, when witnessing opportunities arise, will you have God's Word ready? Or will you enter the battle unarmed? The enemy fears nothing more than a Christian who knows Scripture and knows how to use it. It's time to stop making excuses about poor memory whilst we effortlessly remember passwords, song lyrics, and countless trivial details. Beginning with just one verse each week, writing it down, meditating on it, and speaking it aloud, you can transform your spiritual effectiveness. Scripture memory isn't a temporary project but a lifelong pursuit that thoroughly furnishes you for every good work. Your sword is only powerful when it's in your hand and you know how to wield it—so pick it up, sharpen it, and prepare for victory through God's living and powerful Word…

Combat Mode: Living as a Spirit-Filled Christian in Today's World!

Standing Firm: Living victoriously in a world that needs the light of Christ…

What the Bible Says About Spiritual Warfare

Living as a Spirit-filled Christian in today's world means recognising that we're engaged in genuine spiritual warfare every single day. This isn't a metaphor or religious jargon—it's the reality that the Apostle Paul described when he reminded us that our struggle isn't against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking to devour, steal, kill, and destroy, whilst Christ offers us abundant life. Combat mode Christianity requires us to put on the full armour of God daily, maintaining constant prayer and spiritual vigilance, exercising discipline in every area of our lives, and standing with courage and boldness even when facing overwhelming odds. We don't fight for victory—we fight from victory, because Christ has already won the ultimate battle through His death and resurrection. The question isn't whether we'll face spiritual opposition, but whether we'll be prepared, alert, and equipped when it comes. May we live as victorious warriors, fully equipped in God's armour, spiritually alert, and advancing boldly in the authority Christ has given us, remembering that if God is for us, no one can stand against us…

Back to Basics: Christian Living: The Cost & Rewards of Discipleship

Counting the cost, embracing the cross, and discovering that Christ is worth it all…

Counting the Cost & Finishing Strong

In our journey of discipleship, we must face an honest truth: following Christ demands everything we have, yet offers infinitely more than we could ever sacrifice. This teaching explores the profound reality that whilst the world rejected our Master and will likewise reject us, and whilst true discipleship requires the daily crucifixion of our old self, the surpassing worth of knowing Christ transforms every sacrifice into incomparable gain. The Apostle Paul, who endured tremendous suffering for the gospel, counted all his former achievements as rubbish compared to the excellence of knowing Jesus—not merely knowing about Him intellectually, but experiencing His resurrection power and sharing in His sufferings. As we run this marathon of faith, stripping away everything that hinders our progress and keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, we discover that trials aren't obstacles but opportunities for spiritual maturity. The crown of righteousness awaits all who persevere, and beyond every earthly reward lies the prospect of hearing those precious words from our Master's lips: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." This teaching honestly confronts the cost—persecution, rejection, death to self—but also accurately counts the rewards: intimate knowledge of Christ, the privilege of partnering with God in His kingdom work, and eternal vindication. The testimony of Scripture and countless faithful disciples throughout history resounds with one clear answer to the question of whether Christ is worth it all: He absolutely is…

Important Update: Back to Basics for KIDS!

After much prayer and reflection, we've made the difficult decision to stop our Back to Basics: for KIDS! content. This wasn't an easy choice, but we believe it's the right one at this time in our ministry.

Whilst our heart for reaching children and families remains strong, and our outreach to our own children and grandchildren will absolutely continue, we've felt God calling us to focus on the core revelation He's placed over our lives. We realised that in our enthusiasm to serve, we were spreading ourselves too thin—doing too much simply to stay busy rather than concentrating on what God has specifically called us to do.

Our primary calling is to teach and equip believers with biblical foundations and core Christian principles. By trying to do everything, we risk diluting the effectiveness of what God has truly anointed us to accomplish. This isn't about doing less; it's about doing what matters most—fulfilling His will with excellence and focus.

We're grateful for your understanding and continued support as we steward this ministry according to God's leading.

Thank you for walking this journey with us…

Three Words That Describe Your Commitment as a Christian

Honour, Code, & Loyalty…

As followers of Christ, our commitment can be powerfully summarised in three essential words: Honour, Code, and Loyalty. These words aren't merely abstract concepts but living principles that should shape every aspect of our Christian walk.

To honour God means living in a way that brings glory to His name, respecting His Word, and His people. The Apostle Paul reminds us, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31, KJV). Our honour extends beyond Sunday worship into every thought, word, and action, maintaining integrity in all we do.

The Psalmist declares, "Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness" (Psalm 29:2, KJV). When we honour God, we acknowledge His sovereignty and worthiness of our devotion. This honour manifests in how we treat others, for Jesus taught, "Honour thy father and thy mother" (Matthew 19:19, KJV), extending respect throughout all our relationships.

Our "code" as Christians is the Bible – God's eternal Word that guides our decisions, shapes our character, and defines how we live as His children. Joshua received this charge: "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein" (Joshua 1:8, KJV).

Following this divine code isn't burdensome but liberating. Jesus proclaimed, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:31-32, KJV). The moral and spiritual principles laid out in Scripture provide a foundation for righteous living. As the Psalmist beautifully expresses, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105, KJV).

Loyalty means remaining steadfast in our devotion to Christ, even when faced with trials, temptations, or opposition. True loyalty means we don't waver in our faith but continue to trust and follow Jesus no matter the circumstances. Paul exemplified this commitment: "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:6-7, KJV).

Jesus Himself said, "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other" (Matthew 6:24, KJV). Our loyalty to Christ demands wholehearted devotion, as demonstrated in Revelation: "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life" (Revelation 2:10, KJV).

These three words – Honour, Code, and Loyalty – form the foundation of a committed Christian life. When we honour God, live by His code, and remain loyal to Him, we reflect the heart of true discipleship. As Paul wrote, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1, KJV).

Let us embrace these principles daily, knowing that "he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6, KJV).

With Christ's love,

Dave & Elaine
