The Christian Compass…
Saturday, 18 April 2026
Welcome to This Week's Christian Compass!
This week has been a steady call back to what is real, what is lasting, and what will hold you when life presses in. Together we have walked through a week of teaching that starts where every strong Christian life must start: with Christ changing the heart, and the Word shaping the walk.
If you have felt your faith wobble under pressure, or you have found yourself drifting into “busy Christianity” without deep roots, let this week be a gentle reset. The Lord does not build His people on hype, emotion, or momentary resolve. He builds us on truth, on surrender, and on a daily walk that is quietly strengthened in the secret place.
We began with the quiet evidence of a changed life that cannot stay hidden, then we laid our confidence on the only foundation that never shifts: acceptance with God anchored in Jesus and His finished work. From there, the Lord’s voice called us to revival, to holiness, and to truth held with love, before confronting the temptation to customise faith to fit comfort. And we closed by returning to the importance of the first step, because what you practise daily becomes what you build on.
So take your time with these posts. Read slowly. Pray honestly. Make one clear step of obedience where the Lord highlights it. Strong foundations are not built in a rush, but they are built—one surrendered day at a time.
If you have missed any part, or you need a fresh reset, this week’s posts are here to strengthen your foundation and set your feet again…

Speak the Truth in Love!
Truth that steadies the heart and strengthens your walk…
Truth matters. Not the kind we use to win an argument, but the kind that saves a soul, steadies a heart, and pulls us back from the edge when feelings are loud and faith feels quiet. In a world full of noise, Jesus does not call us to speak more. He calls us to speak true.
The Bible says, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” [John 17:17 KJV] That means truth is not a mood and it is not an opinion. Truth is God’s Word, and when God’s Word is received with humility, it does not just inform us. It shapes us.
Before truth is spoken through us, it must be spoken over us. Some of us are still living under old labels, old failures, and old accusations. But Scripture is clear: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.” [Romans 8:1 KJV] If God has cleared your record in Christ, do not keep re-reading the charges.
When fear rises, God does not give a motivational quote. He gives a promise: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee.” [Isaiah 41:10 KJV] You may feel weak, but you are not alone.
And remember this: truth spoken without love becomes a weapon, and love without truth becomes a fog. We need both. The Word tells us to be “speaking the truth in love.” [Ephesians 4:15 KJV] That is the tone of Christ. Firm, but not harsh. Clear, but not proud. So when you correct, do it to restore, not to crush. When you warn, do it with tears in your heart, not triumph in your voice.
Even Jesus said, “I am… the truth.” [John 14:6 KJV] If Truth Himself came low and gentle, we have no right to come arrogant.
Some truths cost you something. They may cost you comfort, applause, or relationships built on compromise. But if we belong to Christ, we cannot hide when the moment calls for clarity. Scripture says, “Cry aloud, spare not… shew my people their transgression.” [Isaiah 58:1 KJV] Not to shame, but to wake.
And the end of it is freedom. Jesus promised, “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” [John 8:32 KJV] Not free to do what the flesh wants, but free from lies that keep you bound.
So here is the question for this week: what truth do you need to obey, and what truth do you need to speak? Start in prayer. Stay in the Word. And when you speak, speak as one who has been saved by grace and shaped by truth…

A Changed Life Gets Noticed
When Christ truly changes a heart, people notice, and not because you’re trying to look spiritual, but because something real has happened on the inside. That’s the point—Christianity isn’t learning the right words and carrying a religious form, it’s the living Christ bringing real power, real conviction, and real change. And that change isn’t you straining to be better; it’s you abiding in the Vine, depending on Jesus to supply what He commands, with grace not only forgiving you, but training you to say no to ungodliness and yes to righteousness. As that kind of life takes shape, the world starts asking questions, and you don’t need a showy answer—you simply point them to Christ with meekness, because the hope in you isn’t a performance, it’s a Person…

The Foundation That Never Shifts
If you’ve ever laid your head down at night wondering, “Am I acceptable to God today… and what about tomorrow?”, this teaching is for you. So many people are living in anxious religion, measuring their standing with God by performance, feelings, consistency, and “how well they did” this week. But the Word of God cuts right through that noise and brings us back to the foundation that never shifts: your standing with God is anchored in Jesus Christ, and in His finished work alone.
When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He wasn’t making salvation possible—He was securing it. That’s why there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, and why you don’t have to crawl into God’s presence hoping He’s in a good mood. You come boldly to the throne of grace, not because you’ve been perfect, but because Christ is your access. And when you fail, you don’t spiral into fear and doubt—you confess, you return quickly, and you keep walking, because your position is safe in Him.
This is what it means to live from acceptance, not for acceptance. Drop anchor. Rest. Stop trying to secure what Jesus has already secured—and watch how this truth changes the way you pray, the way you obey, and the way you face storms…

A Call to Revival!
In this teaching blog I’m asking us to slow down and honestly face one big question: what does Jesus think of His Church right now? Not in a vague, “out there” kind of way, but right where we are—because the Church is His beloved bride, and He paid for her with His own blood.
I’m calling us back to holiness and to a faith that’s truly lived, not just talked about. It’s so easy to drift into comfortable religion—busy, familiar, and lukewarm—while our hearts grow dull. So this is a gentle but firm wake-up call to repent, to let the Word of God shape our thinking again, and to refuse the watered-down messages that have crept in.
At the same time, I’m reminding us that truth must be held with love. Christ wants a Church that stands strong on sound doctrine, but also walks in humility, forgiveness, and real unity. My prayer is that this stirs personal revival—through repentance, prayer, and fresh obedience—trusting the Lord to restore what we truly surrender to Him…

Christianity on Your Terms?
Most people do not mind Jesus as long as He fits the version of faith they already like, but the moment His Word corrects, confronts, or calls for surrender, many try to edit the message instead of letting the message edit them. The Bible does not give us a faith we can customise like a buffet. It gives us truth revealed by God, and the mark of a real disciple is continuing in Christ’s Word even when it challenges our opinions and exposes our sin. That is why repentance cannot be removed from the gospel, because grace is not a soft permission slip to stay the same, it is God’s power to turn us from our way to His way. Scripture also warns that “itching ears” will push people to hunt for teachers who agree with them, while ignoring the parts of God’s Word that demand holiness and a cross-bearing life. And when trials come, a self-made, comfort-first Christianity collapses, but a faith anchored in Christ holds steady. We are saved by grace through faith, not by effort, yet saving grace always produces real change, because Jesus is not a life coach. Jesus is King, and His kingdom, righteousness, and commands must come first…

Why the first step matters
This first teaching is a call to start the right way, because a strong Christian life is not built on moods, culture, or personal preference, but on the unshakable foundation of Jesus Christ and the truth of His Word. I’m reminding you that storms do not prove whether God is good, they reveal what you have been building on, and if the foundation is weak, life will expose it. So before we get into the practical “how to” parts, we settle what must be settled: who Jesus is, and who you are in Him, because Christianity is not self-improvement, it is new life. From there, I’m encouraging you to make repentance normal, not dramatic, by quickly agreeing with God when He corrects something and taking simple steps of obedience right away. The goal is not to collect information, but to move into transformation by doing what you read. If you can give the Lord a steady daily rhythm of Scripture, prayer, and one clear act of obedience, you will start laying a foundation that lasts, and you will not have to walk it alone, because God strengthens believers through real connection to the Body and being truly planted...

Living Out Our Faith: Weekly Challenges! A practical guide offering weekly steps to apply your spiritual learning. These challenges turn Bible teachings into daily habits through simple, doable actions…
Living Out Our Faith: Weekly Challenges!
This week, we are not trying to “do Christianity” in our own strength. We are practising a life that flows from Jesus and is shaped by His Word. Choose one clear step each day, keep it simple, and ask the Lord for grace to obey.
Monday — One Quiet Act of Worship
- [ ] Set aside 10 minutes with no phone.
- [ ] Read one short passage slowly (for example, John 15 KJV).
- [ ] Write one sentence to the Lord: “Today I worship You because…”
Tuesday — Replace Anxiety With Truth
- [ ] Identify one recurring anxious thought.
- [ ] Write a one-line truth from Scripture that answers it.
- [ ] Speak that truth out loud three times today.
Wednesday — Revival Starts With Repentance
- [ ] Ask: “Lord, what have I been tolerating that dulls my heart?”
- [ ] Confess it plainly.
- [ ] Take one practical step to cut it off today.
Thursday — Submit One Area to Jesus
- [ ] Choose one area where you want Jesus “on your terms”.
- [ ] Pray: “Jesus, You are King here. Teach me to obey.”
- [ ] Do the next right thing, even if it is small.
Friday — Build the First Step Habit
- [ ] Pick a consistent daily time for Bible and prayer.
- [ ] Keep it realistic (15 minutes is fine).
- [ ] Tell one person your plan for accountability.
Saturday — A Life That Gets Noticed
- [ ] Do one quiet act of love: encouragement, help, generosity, or forgiveness.
- [ ] Do it without needing recognition.
- [ ] If asked why, point simply to Jesus.
Weekly Wrap-Up
Before next week begins, take five minutes and write:
- One truth God reminded you of.
- One area where you obeyed quickly.
- One area you want to surrender more fully.
This Week's Key Takeaways:

Relentless Pursuit…
Press on. Seek first. Rise again…
There is a kind of Christianity that feels strong on Sunday but thin by Wednesday. We lift our hands, sing the truths, agree with the message—then life presses in and we drift back into “manageable faith.” But Jesus did not call us to a casual walk. He called us to follow Him. And if we are going to stand in days like these, we need a relentless pursuit of Christ—steady, hungry, and anchored.
The apostle Paul said it plainly: “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” [Philippians 3:14 KJV] Notice the language—press. That is not a relaxed stroll. That is a focused life. Not frantic, not performative, but deliberate. A heart that has been captured by Jesus does not treat Him like an optional add-on. It pursues.
And let’s be honest: the greatest enemy of pursuit is not always open sin—it is quiet distraction. Drifting is rarely dramatic. It is slow. It is subtle. It is the gradual trade of spiritual hunger for spiritual background noise. Yet Scripture calls us back to intensity: “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.” [Isaiah 55:6 KJV] This is not God trying to hide. This is God calling us not to delay.
Relentless pursuit begins in the secret place. Jesus Himself said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” [Matthew 6:33 KJV] Seek first. Not seek later. Not seek when convenient. Not seek when emotions cooperate. First. The pursuit that lasts is built on priority, not mood.
But we also need to understand this: pursuit is not the same as striving. Striving says, “If I work hard enough, God will accept me.” Pursuit says, “Because God has accepted me in Christ, I will not live half-hearted.” The Word tells us, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” [James 4:8 KJV] That is relationship language. That is grace inviting response.
Sometimes relentless pursuit looks like getting back up again. You may have stumbled. You may have cooled off. You may feel like you have failed too many times to be consistent. Hear the call of Scripture: “A just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.” [Proverbs 24:16 KJV] The enemy loves believers who stay down. The Lord strengthens believers who rise—again and again—because the pursuit is not about perfection, it is about direction.
So here is the question: what has been competing with Jesus in your heart? What has been slowly pulling you from the Word, from prayer, from obedience? Today, don’t negotiate—return. Because God still says, “Return unto me, and I will return unto you.” [Malachi 3:7 KJV] Relentless pursuit is simply this: a daily decision that Christ is worth more than comfort, worth more than applause, worth more than compromise.
Press on. Seek first. Rise again. And keep your eyes on Jesus…
In Christ
